jeroenpeters Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 With the coming Das Werk Me262 kit, I though it would be a great opportunity to build a Me262A-1a/U4. Here is the first rough work on the 50mm Mk214a cannon. Still looking for way more reference pictures of this cannon and the gunny. It will need the whole nose to be altered and probably 3D printed. We'll see. First to finish this U2! BiggTim, Pete Hamann, HB252 and 5 others 8
jeroenpeters Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 And in preparation of the U4, also working on this officer demonstrating the size of the 50mm round. Still needs a lot of tweaking on the hands... Palm-tree, Polecadt, BiggTim and 13 others 16
jeroenpeters Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 Some more work on the Mk214A gun. Found some proper drawings of the ammo and some more reference on the gun itself. Only need to find some good reference on cables, attachment in the gunbay, etc. Victor K2, Landrotten Highlander, Troy Molitor and 9 others 12
jeroenpeters Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 This kinda answers my questions. I think the Revell mk214a can do with some extra detail. chukw, Landrotten Highlander, Troy Molitor and 9 others 12
BiggTim Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I started this exact project some years back, even 3D printed the gun like you did. I think yours is better though!! jeroenpeters 1

Jim Barry Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I almost went with the U4 on my 262 but it did not make the cut when I learned it never saw service. Just a preference for my scratchbuilds at this point. It’s still very cool and I’m building Dragon’s U4 1/48 . jeroenpeters 1
jeroenpeters Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 There is a lot of reference here on the BK-5 cannon, but not the mk214a. As was placed in the two U4 test beds. Every piece of reference i can find will go into my 3D model. I will make it drop fit the new Revell kit. Anyone who wants it or has references. PM me. Pete Hamann 1
Greif8 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Mad 3D design and printing skills, keep bring the voodoo magic Jeroen! Ernest jeroenpeters 1
alaninaustria Posted January 31 Posted January 31 My conversion is done and in the vitrine - the canon was turned brass by Steve Nutall, who unfortunately passed some years ago. I’d love a 3D printed Canon to have as a display next to the model! Cheers Alan jeroenpeters 1
jeroenpeters Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 3D drew the terrain to fit the wood oval base. You can see the indentations for the engines. Further terrain will be added by... hand! Drawing this is literally 5 minutes of work. Polecadt, Victor K2, patricksparks and 6 others 9
jeroenpeters Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Base printed. This will be added as a starting point for grass and mudd. LSP_Kevin, chukw, Greif8 and 7 others 10
jeroenpeters Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Something like this LSP_Kevin, Greif8, Victor K2 and 9 others 12
Troy Molitor Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Some great efforts going on here Jeroen. I picked up the Das Werk P.1101 after seeing your awesome build. I sold off my Revell 262B kit and now waiting on the Das Werk offering to compare it with the older Trumpeter kits. Love your idea shown above. Well done. jeroenpeters 1
Kawaman1960 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I have a stash of the Trumpeter 262 kits. Its one of their better efforts. The B's fuselage is slightly heavily riveted but apart from that their pretty good. The Das Werk 262 will have to be amazing ( and cheap ) to prompt me to swop them. I have the same RB Productions conversion for future build and hope its not suffered as yours has. As ever your efforts are inspiring. Alan.
