Greif8 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Good progress and very neat fragment Jeron. The Cheb area is only 85-90 kms from where I live. I am sure there are quite a few crash location of both German and allied aircraft around my area as Regensburg, Nürnberg and Schweinfurt are all with 1.5 hours or closer from my home. I have often thought about looking for some crash sites but I have no idea what the best way would be to go about that, and I don't own any equipement to help with something like that. Ernest Hi Ernest, in that case you should visit: http://www.museum119.cz/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR2euYnRF4IP05n-E_GJot1QjAk6k91wsU8U4Akd5RDLuznwalZMu1UV1KI_aem_CNXu0sAxTkqP_-WQr1P5Gw Jan Zdarsky from Eduard is connected to this museum and it’s dedicated to the airwar in that region. Have you been there? Greif8 and Martinnfb 1 1
jeroenpeters Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 Getting a bit more confident. Vacformed the left side of the nose. The internal bracing will determine whether this is the way to go or above my abilities. Fitted is my PTEG vac form. Left is the resin one from MDC. HB252, mc65, Shoggz and 14 others 17
Greif8 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Great work Jeron, the vac-formed part looks like a near perfect fit. Ernest jeroenpeters and Martinnfb 1 1
jeroenpeters Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 Really impressed with my FPW order. vvwse4, Victor K2, MikeMaben and 13 others 16
jeroenpeters Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 Tiny steps. The glass nose is getting better and better. I might even vacform the pilot’s canopy hood. The engine is a perfect fit. So far so good! Kais, geedubelyer, Dpgsbody55 and 17 others 20
Greif8 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Just superb work Jeroen! How long did it take to cut the engine free from the supports? That looked to be a real job in and of itself! Ernest jeroenpeters 1
alaninaustria Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Very nice! This is going to be the next Me-262 that I tackle… then the group is complete! You're really doing her justice! Nice!! That AF engine is looking very nice! Cheers Alan jeroenpeters 1
jeroenpeters Posted January 21 Author Posted January 21 So… with the side tracking p.1101 out of the eay it’s back to this project. I might make it as the V555. 555 stands for tge last 3 digits of the Werknummer. Nothing more. It will be crawled upon and examined by US soldiers after it belly landed. We’ll see! geedubelyer, HB252, scvrobeson and 15 others 18
Greif8 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Nice to see you back at work on this Jeroen. I'll bet your new 3D printer will get some work during the build! Ernest jeroenpeters 1
jeroenpeters Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 Figuring out what base to use. I prefer undersized. Not sure about groundwork yet. I have some me262 parts, like this jumo004 fan blade. Trying to find a way to incorporate it. We’ll see. Greif8, Antonio Argudo, scvrobeson and 11 others 14
Greif8 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Pretty cool artifact Jeroen. Did you find it on the ground? The base looks the right size to me. Ernest jeroenpeters 1
jeroenpeters Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 This is how far the Ai goes. I use this black and white photo and crop it to the sitting figure. Then I tell ChatGPT to add sharpness and details and make the image bigger. Then I upload it to Hunyuan3D and generate the 3d model. Note: I use photoshop to change details in the image to help the 3d tool to interpret clothing and creases. The helmet is a detailed correct helmet I bought online and use that to replace the rather strange helmet the Ai tool creates. Madmax, AngryJazz_Models, Polecadt and 11 others 14
