Hi all,

I have been absent for quite a while, but active on LargeScaleModeller.

At the moment I am working on the

- SH Westland Whirlwind with 3D printed RR Peregrine engines exposed.

- SH Tempest with all the sets available

- And this Trump 262 with the horrible MDC U2 conversion and other AM.

The MDC set has suffered severe shrinkage and ugly castings. Some of the parts I am completely remaking. Also experimenting with a Vacform machine to remake the transparencies that are somewhat yellowed, but also sloppy casted.

The deck in the resin nose has shrunken in length and width. This was fixed with Evergreen.

The whole rear wall of the nose looked like it had shrunken to 48 th scale. This whole wall was remade using a modified Trumpie part.

The top of the nose (rear deck) was 2,5mm short on both sides. This was filled up with Evergreen and smoothed out.

I can go on and on...

Shrinkages were also found in the Aires set, but with some alterations this was made to fit.

The KG13 control stick in the Aires set looked like it went on hunger strike. I 3D printed a new one.

I bought a Vacform machine and am now trying to make new Vacform transparencies. We'll see how that turns out...

Very cool!

what’s the story behind the 1:1 scale instrument panel on the wall? Are those original instruments?

The panel itself has been lasercut from a certified drawing. Almost all the instruments I have now are indeed original. The only replica is the directional compass, but a very good one at that. I also have an almost complete Spitfire Mk.V panel and FW190. A very expensive hobby...

That is way cool! What an awesome piece to have.

Good to see you back and building here Jeroen!  Bummer about the shrinkage, but you more then solved those issues with some excellent scratchbuilding.  The 3D printed joystick looks great as well, as does the vac formed clear part.

That is some highly skilled 3D printing Jeron.  I would not know even where to begin with designing and then printing a 3D part, and your's looks good enough that people would buy them.  Impressive man!
