themongoose
there's some nice shapes and details on that kit. Looking forward to seeing all that bonus material on it as well John B
John B
Ran into an small issue with the resin exhausts, they are wonderfully cast resin and sized for the Revell kit. I purchased them about four years ago, when I opened the set, I noticed that one exhaust had two small broken pieces. I tried fixing it, I came close, but the second piece kept fighting me, just didn't want to settle in position. I contacted the GT and he is taking care of me, so no worries. John B
Started taking parts off the trees and checking for missing ones. I'm not using the weapons from the kit so I left them out of the picture gallery. Aerocraft Models makes a clear one for the Revell !/32 F-15C kit, I asked him about doing the two seater, he said that it wasn't in the works because the later issues of this kit are clear. What's interesting is my Revell F-15C came with a clear canopy. Go figure. I guess I can live with the dark canopy, I've seen darker ones. I have replacement wheels for the rubber ones. GT Resins emailed me today informing me that the exhaust is on it's way. I got replacement Bang-Seats from my Buddy at G-Factor Models, already had the brass landing gear sets from G-Factor too. John B
Started to modify the kit and Parts-R-Parts IP's to be more IAF like. Using the Isradecal Reference Book on the F-15 Baz, which I see is not in print right now. I used the Parts-R-Parts forward IP as a reference, the Revell kit part in not so accurate, so it was modified. After studying photos, it looks like the modifications done by the IAF made the F-15B/D a poor man's Strike Eagle. The CRT screen on the left for the Forward IP and two CRT screens for the Aft. Also, there is a joystick on the righthand side in the Aft cockpit, also the throttle in the Aft cockpit needs to be moved as well by following the instructions from Parts-R-Parts and the Isradecal book. Before anyone says anything about the forward IP round dials being crooked, the Parts-R-Parts come like that and the references confirm this, the aft are straight up and down, go figure. Looking at the pictures, I think there are some others dials required. I'm not a rivet counter but I try to be accurate enough to be relevant. So don't sue me if I missed something, hopefully something not obvious.
