CRAZY IVAN5
Just got done watching one of my all time favorite movies ,Battle of Britain. The question I've got is this; scene where the Ju-52 is taxing up to the hangar at Berlin Staaken at night shows the RIGHT nav light being red. I rewound the scene 3 times just to make sure and yup it's red . Is/was there some kind of alternate lighting used by the Germans during the war? Tell me I haven't lost what's left of my mind. LSP_Ron
"No more red port wine left" It was and still is universal as far as I know.

Well, that's what I always thought too, but it's in the movie so I don't know what the story is. I must've watched that movie hundreds of times yet I just noticed it yesterday. fastterry
Maybe the film was run from the opposite side ie back to front in that particular scene. I have seen a few photos that have been reversed but not a movie that I can think of. TRF geedubelyer
Ol' Scrapiron
I'll have to pull up the disc and watch again tonight, but first thought might be that they mirrored the shot to get the composition they wanted (like a flipped slide) I'll check that scene to see if there was any writing visible that would be a giveaway -- although Cameron purposely did this in Titanic and adapted signage for the filming (I doubt if they went to that lengths for BoB) Thanks for the movie choice for tonight. geedubelyer and CRAZY IVAN5

Oldbaldguy
Most likely it will be a mystery for all time. Willing suspension of disbelief and all that. CRAZY IVAN5

On the one hand that's a little disconcerting, on the other hand I take solace in that I'm not the only one who's seen it. The only thing I can think of is the image is reversed. The why is another question. Archimedes
RBrown
Probably a reversed image, note the cutaway just prior to revealing the fuselage markings. Oldbaldguy

Maybe, but the E under the wing is facing the correct way, as is the "Berlin Tempelhof" on the tower. The complete lack of corrugated surfaces might indicate that it is a mock-up or movie-prop of some sort and not a real airplane: Screen grab from the video posted above. I'll go with it though "they" put the red light on the wrong wing ,whooops!
Ol' Scrapiron
Still processing all the pics I took at Airventure / Oshkosh, and probably would not have noticed the anomaly with the nav light if not for your post. Now it kind of jumps out at me that the green light is on the wrong wing Archimedes
