Laminar Flow Designs was hinting around over on FB about a Vc conversion for the Tamiya IX kit.   Awesome news if true, brings me a step closer to building a Malta Spit with one of those funky field applied blue camo schemes.   Now if they would also consider going the requisite Vokes air filter, I would be in really good shape.

I do have to wonder about the marketability of this kit given that Kotare will be getting around to the Vc at some point and it’s sure to be an awesome kit.   That said, at the pace Kotare releases their kits, I can’t see a Vc from them until 2026 so if LFD moves quickly, they’ve got a pretty decent window before the competition shows up.   I honestly think they should have released a Vc instead of the Griffon conversions, as the Vc would have been much more popular but hey, what do I know?

If LFD do a Vokes filter to go on this, I will definitely do an RAAF Defense of Darwin Spitfire.

Cheers,

Michael

Or get one from a Hasegawa kit? Maybe someone with one spare?

That conversion is too hard to go past.

All very well to say that Kotare may do a VC in the future, but as they (who ever they are) say, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush....

I'd be in for a few straight up. Not just a new nose (and Vokes filter), but new prop and spinner for an Aussie Spit.

Been looking for that book for years.   Last time I checked it was going for north of $200 on Ebay and out of stock everywhere else.    This guy was selling it for $37 plus shipping.   Too good to be true but I decided to risk it.   Order placed.
