1/32 Dewoitine D.520 in development by Dora Wings

For the Francophiles amongst us: Dora Wings have announced a Dewoitine D.520 in development in 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72. They have released CAD images too.

That would be a first for them! I'd imagine short-run injection-moulded is more likely.

One of my favourite subjects, the old AZUR kit nearly drove me nuts but I loved the result, so a modern one would be very welcome.

A new one would be welcome. Dora wings seems have fairly good rep. Azur was tough but doable.

This was initially announced around two years ago but for obvious reasons the project was noticeably delayed. Happy to see it progressing, even slowly.

It’s definitely time for a state-of-the-art kit of this important and beautiful fighter. The Azur-kit definitely needs to retire.

Question: The Dewoitine D.520 is not an aircraft I am that familiar with. In a straight one-on-one roughly equal pilots how would a D.520 fare against a Bf109E?

And, from personal experience as a 10 year old, my 1/72 Air Lines D.520 beat my friend's Revell Me-109 in Driveway Dogfights any day of the week (and my Pactra paint job was better than his too!)

and then, on the main (right) window, find 

Plans de fabrication. (février 1939 - juin 1940)

you can choose wich part you want to see : "groupe I" for wings, "groupe II" for fuselage...

I'm not much of an expert here, but IIRC German ace, Werner Molders, was shot down over France by a D.520 in 1940.  The D.520 could hold its own, but there weren't many occasions where the 109E and the D.520 fought.  D.520's were only available in limited numbers when the Battle of France began.  It saw action with Vichy France against the British over North Africa and in Syria.
