Dpgsbody55 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Great progress. Those flap innards look great. Cheers, Michael Thunnus 1
Gazzas Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 IP and flaps look really great. I love the intricate detail of the flaps. Thunnus 1
Greif8 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 John that IP looks the biz man! Your work on the photo-etch is outstanding as well! Ernest Thunnus 1
Kaeone57 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Another Gorgeous endeavor John! Great work so far! Alfonso Thunnus 1
chuck540z3 Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Good Lord, that is impeccable modeling at its finest! Not my area of interest, but a great model build is a great model build. Cheers, Chuck Thunnus 1
amurray Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 When this realistic sucker flies away under its own power how do you plan to get it back? Thunnus and Biggles87 1 1
Thunnus Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 Thanks guys! Appreciate the comments. Slowly plodding along here! Because I am using a few of Eduard's pre-painted photoetch parts, the order of construction changes from my norm. Usually, I like to assemble as much as possible, especially any additional wiring, before painting. But I've been forced to paint things individually. Here are most of the painted components. The painted components are slowly glued into place. Here are the sidewalls... The cockpit floor... The instrument panel... The major sub-assemblies are now ready to be glued together. I decided to glue the front and rear bulkheads first so that I can pose the cockpit tub with one sidewall in place for photos. TankBuster, Paulpk, MikeMaben and 25 others 28
Gazzas Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Wow, I reckon these photos will be a better modelling resource than most reference photos. I really like how well defined everything is. That interior is A1. Biggles87, Thunnus and SwissFighters 3
scvrobeson Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 That's a beautiful looking cockpit John! The split color on the oxygen bottles is interesting, can't recall seeing that before. Matt Thunnus 1

The dual color on the oxygen bottles is per the instructions so I'm not being adventurous or anything! Once the front and rear bulkheads were secure in place, I glued the sidewalls in. Due to the curvature of the sidewalls, visibility into the cockpit gets severely reduced. Test fit of the completed sub-assemblies: engine, gun bay and cockpit. Apologies because I'm going to pause on this build. The next order of business is scraping the wing interior surfaces to accommodate the brass flaps and... for whatever reason... I don't feel like doing that! So I'm going to start another project and get back to the Folgore in the near future. geedubelyer, Dpgsbody55, LSP_Kevin and 17 others 19 1
Dpgsbody55 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Brilliant work on the cockpit. The detail work is excellent and your colour choices have answered a few questions for me when I do my C.205 (released and bought last night ). Cheers, Michael
Biggles87 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Agree with @Gazzas, those cockpit photos are definitely going to be my references for the 21st Century improvements, with your permission of course. The rest of it’s not too shabby either. John Thunnus and dennismcc 2
Greif8 Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Beautiful work on the cockpit and the engine looks fantastic John! Superb photos to show it all as well. I wish I had better photo taking lighting at my bench so that I can take better shots of what I work on, your's are first class. Ernest Thunnus 1
MikeMaben Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Cockpit looks great John. Were there no waist belts on sides of the seat ? Thunnus 1
