You should be more cautious with new thread titles like this one as it can cause a heart attack!

We've been waiting for a new 1:32 Streak and Flash ever since Kittyhawk said it would do them. Whether Zimi pick up the baton, who knows?

Italeri has the potential to do these subjects and would do a good job.

And yes, I want both in 1:32 scale

Well, I sure don't want to give anyone a heart attack. I thought that since Hobby Boss put out the -84E and G [ good kits from what I've heard and read] they would carry on and do the -84F too but alas........, I was kind of thinking Italeri as being a potential candidate[ see F-104 series ]. Does Zimi produce kits, I'm asking 'cuz I don't know.

I don't think anything ever became of the Tanmodel plans, and with Kittyhawk gone, looks like we won't be seeing one for awhile

IIRC Tan models did put out an RF in 48th. If I had my druthers , I'd prefer Italeri do one, but that's just me.

Zimi (former Kittyhawk) won't do it. They just produce the old Kittyhawk is my guesstimate. The Streak-team in 1/32 of which I was part, gathered all data for Kittyhawk in 2014-2015, but it led nowhere, despite lobbying efforts. Italeri, Trumpeter,...Tamiya...all unlikely. Nice dream but not happening. They probably think the market is too small, but see what happens with the Jetmads initiative? Sold out in no time: 500 kits.

They most likely will do the Thunderflash as well, so stay tuned. Their work is getting better by the kit.

Well, that's a little disconcerting, don't know why they would think the market would be too small. A lot of different countries flew them so a lot of different schemes to choose from. Jetmads selling 500 like now, that SHOULD say something to the other manufacturers you'd think.  I prefer IM to resin  Jetmads does good stuff but way too expensive for me . It's not that I don't want to I just can't do it the money gods will not permit it. I think the two top contenders would be Italeri and dare I say it , Hobby Boss. It's been ten years and the times they are a changin'.

The problem is simple. You cannot obtain a product break even status without selling a minimum of some thousands of boxes if you are releasing an injected plastic model. Finding 500 customers is easy and even 1000 stays rather easy. This is the LSP market hard core. You can possibly reach 2000 but this will ask for some additional months and is already conditioned by some attractiveness factors. Further, you are entering into the danger zone! According to the topic kits may sell like hot cakes... or not! This is the critical issue as this market segment is very unstable but required to reach the initial profitability. A company like WnW understood it and developed a clever marketing policy that was offer rather than demand driven. This was efficient up to some level. However, even that approach could not result in miracles! For instance, think of the early Gotha seaplane prototype. So, marketing gods have quite often strange ideas when you look at them from the hard core perspective! This explains why a company like Jetmads using a far cheaper production model only does short run releases and for two to three times the price of an equivalent injected model. We may finally get an injected F-84F because companies cannot only produce Spitfires, Mustangs, Me109s and Fw-190s forever but when is a big question! The lowest is the perceived probability of profitability of some releases, the lowest will be the frequency of such releases between best sellers. This is a pity but is an economical fact...

Yes, the hobby needs some benefactors who are happy to just break even, tooling wanted subjects with no more than fifty parts sold in cheap cardboard boxes with no decals or instructions. Just a quick stop-motion on-line assembly video.

That way we could very likely have [insert want here] in 1:32 scale.

Sourcing relevant AM would be half the fun.

I think we're heading in that direction with cottage industry 3D printing; but another benefactor, or entrepreneur as there would be money to be made, needs to create a finger-friendly non eye-stinging quick-drying alternative to cyanoacrylate glue.

It is a little disconcerting indeed, but our group ran into that reality. You may be right that Hobby Boss would be a logical contender since they did (with the help of again some of the Streak team) the Thunderjet in 1/32. A decent kit but with some flaws (Cockpit, wheels and intake solution being 3 main items). Who knows, it may happen one day, but Jetmads is doing it. Their work would be valuable to regular IM companies as well. Anyway, finally a Streak (and later Thunderflash). These were indeed important aircraft of the time.

Roger that on the Hobby Boss Thunderjet ! The only reason I haven't snagged one yet is the singular lack of any aftermarket, like seats with belts, instrument panel photoetch and such like . I believe I could live with the rest of it[ re-enforcing tapes on the outside of the canopy]. I've run into the same problem with the old Matchbox Sea Venom[ seats and instrument panels ]. Two thumbs up to Jetmads for making the noble effort! I just can't go with them from a financial point of view. It's no sin to be poor but its terribly unhandy.

AMS makes a resin 'pit set for the E, and possibly one for the G as well. Also, don't count out airscale instruments and bezels, that way you can make your own IP. Kits-World may also make some 3D printed generic belts, and their stuff is pretty darn cool. You might also look into some ASK products, but I can't say for sure they'd be of any help.

I actually helped Harold Offield of AMS with the Instrument Panel and the ejection seat. It is a set to have and it improves the Thunderjet drastically.
