  1. I have switched from the infamous Photobucket to Flickr. After three Tamiya F-14s, a Blackburn Buccaneer, a Vickers Super VC10, a Spitfire and an A3D Skywarrior it was time to re visit this long time resident on my Shelf of Doom. So, here's where we are. By this point, the Tamiya Corsair is not a "new" kit, but i keep learning new things with each one i build. To that end, i've presented here what significant nuggets of information i'm able to pass along so far. I'll just do the data/photo dump first and then expand on any questions that get axed. More to come, once i get settled in my new home... -d-
  2. The Kingfisher’s wash is drying, all that remains is buff it up and mate all sub-assemblies. This got me thinking on what to do next: start on the Focke-Wulf Kanguru conversion, or beat the F-84G in to submission that has been sitting on the floor for ages. I decided to do the latter, so here goes. I don’t remember exactly why I lost interest, but a few thing come to mind. 1. I had lot’s of trouble to get this part to sit and stay put in the cockpit. It’s Eduard PE plus kit parts. It kept breaking off. I added fictions bracing plates to give it more stability. I just put it back in without glue and then I remembered: the windscreen will not fit when the part is installed. I will have to come up with a fix. Then there was this seam between the fuselage and the gun-cover. Sorted now. The cockpit looks okay with the Eduard parts. Still needs some wash and Matt-coat, and I have to install the hiney-parts. . I am open to suggestions on what colors to finish the F-84G in. There is an Iranian one that looks appealing in Asia Minor cammo, but I can’t find proof of operational use so I guess it’s out of the question.

  4. Hi gents, after starting my F-16, I got the hankering for another jet, and realised that I had a F-4J, which has been languishing on the SOD for around a decade. In a sense I would like to dedicate this model to Larry Hawkins, as we discussed it on and off, when I had originally started it. I'll have to see how I can spruce up the pit……. perhaps add two figures….. and then I have to settle on a scheme…. probably the bi-centenial Warlords scheme.
  5. While (not so) patiently waiting for my eye to get better, I decided to find something in the stash I could work on that wouldn't cause too much eye strain. I found this kit which I've had since it came out in 2002:
