  1. After sweeping the Kinetic F-86 off the bench in defeat I thought I'd try another F-18...anyone can build one of these so maybe I'll get through this one. This will be 60 years of NORAD CF 188...F/A 18 A to everybody else The LEM's decals package is like a book. the Dmold resin is significantly larger ID than the Academy parts, nice improvement. the "Black Box" office, still a nice set years later. The Canadian seat on the right wish me luck Thanks for looking
  2. So this one is done! A nice kit OOB with lot of details but I decided to up it a notch. #2106 survived Pearl Harbor and Midway. She was a training aircraft for the last part of her career and finished her days at the bottom of lake Michigan. They fished her out and now she reside at the National Navy Museum. You can find the build here, http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=72419&page=1 There was some first on that model, first time use of the hair spray technique for the chipping, first time using Montex masks. In the end I really love the way it came out! The blue gray on top is PRU blue from MM and for the bottom.color, I used Hataka White-Gray FS 36628. Aligning the mask is a bit mind nerving, but if you take your time the results are amazing. So hope you like it and thanks for looking! Cheers
  3. So after seeing Peter's work on his, I was tempted! This is a model I started some time ago, like drilling holes in the flaps and dive brakes and got bored. The SBD is my favorite US Navy WW2 aircraft, it has such classic lines. So I'll be using the Yellow Wings decals and the Black Box interior for that one. I'm not decided yet on the paint scheme, pre-Midway with the red center in the cockades and white and red rudder or the Midway era with painted out red in the markings. So guess I'll flip a coin on that one! So have a Happy Holidays every one!
