  1. I’ve been a little in the doldrums modelling wise for the last few weeks. My Harrier has stalled and made its way to the Shelf of Doom for a little while, I just can’t seem to get the mojo to get into it properly. This year and it’s madness has seen me forced to sell all my camera equipment to keep up with bills, as I had no wedding bookings for the entire year, leaving me with virtually zero income, and an uncertain future right now. Add into all this that I had a rude awakening with my health recently which means I’ve gotta commit a whole heap of time to exercising to improve that situation, and take some away from the modelling bench. I previously had one of these monsters built and on display at my old photo studio, but it got trashed by an misplaced lump of timber that my father was moving about. I was gonna attempt a salvage but then I saw one up for sale with loads of extras, so thought I’d do a build from the ground up again. So, I’ve pulled down the huge Trumpeter box that I recently acquired from another LSP’er. This is truly, a Flanker with almost everything being thrown at it. Along with the kit, there is the following that I’ve chose to use.... Zactomodels, Nose, intakes, canopy, pylons, and full missile setup. Aires, cockpit, wheel bays, exhausts, and a choice of ejector seat with our without a pilot. Master and Profimodeller, metal static dischargers, dynamic pressure sensors, and pitot tube. 2 choice of wheels, Contact resine, or Armoury. Begemot stencil decal set. Foxbot Ukraine AF digital camouflage masking set, and decals for said aircraft. I couldn’t quite find the room to put the kitchen sink into it as well, even though I may as well be throwing everything else at it. I have stayed away from adding any Eduard PE to it, I just can’t seem to get on with it to produce a satisfactory result. With all this, I’m attempting to build a showstopper, if I get it built how I have it in my mind currently. It’ll be a long and slow burner, the missiles individually are mini models! I’ve predicted my future, it’ll be saw, cut, trim, sand, dry fit, sand, dry fit, repeat until happy. Until then, I’ve got a lot of unboxing, cataloging, and sorting to get through.
  2. Have a look at my new website!!! https://zactomodels.com A big thank you to the modelers whose pictures you'll see on my homepage. A huge thank you to Marcel and Miro who took multiple pictures of their kits until the lighting and pose of the images worked together so that I could merge them for the hero-pic. Thank you for tolerating my AMS! My old website was cluttered, crowded, not mobile friendly and way beyond obsolete. Not having a clue about building websites made this a real challenge. The site still needs a lot of work. I was mostly focused on making the homepage and store before going live. The "about us" page and "shipping details" are temporary and will be filled in when I get the time. The "privacy policy" and "terms and conditions" are copy/pasted standard legal mumbo-jumbo that nobody reads or cares about. I do plan to eventually add a customer build gallery and probably a few other pages for faqs, news, tutorials, etc. Just need more time... Please let me know what you think, if you find any problems or have any suggestions. Happy New Year!
  3. Finally some new releases from Zactomodels! For the new Trumpeter MiG-29A and UB kits: Exhausts - These were made by modifying and adapting the exhausts Alexander Rogal made for the MiG-29M/K kit (also used for the Zactomodels Revell correction set). They are now full depth. I slightly revised the shape of the outer exhaust petals to have a more accurate shape. This is closer to the original part that Alexander made which I had to modify to fit, but didn't quite nail the shape. Top is the new shape. Lower is the previous version that had too much curve on the petals. Subtle, but more accurate.
  4. Hi all, I'm new to this forum so I'll introduce myself. I'm Jer, I've been modelling planes for many years but i have only ever worked on 72 scale but predominately 48 scale. I normally post on Britmodeller but when researching into this build I ended up here, so it seemed sensible to share what I'm doing with you guys as this forum is all about the Larger scales. Thought I'd cut my teeth on the Tamiya F15C (my fav plane) and purchased as much AM stuff for it as possible. So here is my starting point........ I'll post more pics as I start to throw it together! Cheers Jer
