  2. Hi everyone - very excited to have received today my 32PE012 Gloster Gladiator cockpit test shot (for ICM kit) A few things to change but hope you like. Hopefully have available by mid February - thanks for looking. Will post when available and then you can email me at aimsmodels1@gmail.com Best wishes, John
  3. Hi Folks, me again, just wanted to make another UK Gloster Gladiator decal sheet - I hope you do not mind? Sending this off to the printers in next few days. Will do my Finnish and Swedish sheet in next month or so. Thanks for looking.
  4. The ICM Gloster Gladiator "landed" on my work bench this morning, so work starts this afternoon! A few shots for starters of sprues, sample instructions and thoughts: Sprues: The detail on all the mouldings is very crisp and well defined. There's no attempt to portray a fabric effect, but this is often overdone when it's been tried previously. Drilling points for rigging are not given other than small raised squares by the struts. I'm pleased that all the control surfaces are separated so that you can "strike your own pose." Instructions: On first glance the instructions look to be clear and well laid out, time will tell of course when assembly begins as to how accurate and logical they are. Pilots: I like to include figures with my models so I also ordered the British pilots set, again they are crisply moulded which is a very important factor when painting. PS: Here's one I made earlier!!! This is the Revell 1/72nd kit, built as a review sample for Scale Modelling Now several years ago:
  5. Hi everyone here is another Gloster Gladiator sheet coming in the near future, thanks for looking
  6. I was delighted to read Iain's recent review of ICM's newly released Bucker Jungmann. I love trainer aircraft but since they are not regarded as very "sexy" and have limited appeal we get very few of them, so well done ICM, more power to your elbow!! Box art: but you'll have to check out Iain's review for sprue shots etc.. Just down the road from me is Henstridge airfield where I did my Tiger Moth training. Annabelle Burroughes, one of the instructors, has a Jungmann which suffered an ignominious event in 2013: A cross wind caught her as she came in to land, and oops, inelegantly onto her nose. I haven't seen Annabelle for a year or two but I believe the Jungmann is back in one piece: Enough preamble; the kit is quite delightful and very well engineered. The sequence of assembly is a little odd in places, like fitting the rear cockpit rudder pedals so early on when they are very vulnerable, but the fit is very precise so far: No seat belts are included so I've made some very simple ones from left over scraps of some RB Prods ones, I imagine the German ones are similar to the Sutton ones fitted to the contemporary Tiger Moth. More soon. Max
  7. This is a short build thread for a ICM Bucker Bu131 in 1/32 scale. I haven't seen one finished yet but one or two threads were started. I have decided to do a Dutch training version. The plane I will model was captured by the Germans when The Netherlands were overrun. The overall color was a turquoise blue/gray shade. The aluminum parts appear to be a natural aluminum finish based on the photo. I have enhanced some details and will try to make the cowling removable to view the engine.
  8. Hi everyone - I have posted these before but with the ICM release perhaps it is good to have a fresh link to easily find. The album is on my AIMS FB page - enjoy https://www.facebook.com/pg/AIMS-1246247558760457/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2818460878205776&__xts__[0]=68.ARDfb4pheswdcJxud_PaAwqHlQwQisg8aM9MGhaNg9B1Ab0mQBTsbbmN_xk6xOWlS9Ym5sf35AgwaJt3JkfKK85ClUEUTuhzz9LN63CsbLidZdXkw_HxgNg0782EMwdGuttjAPqwJ2lzhUSdODMjY_mIePg8Tg_uf0cWvzfEyteBz0rzrki3O0p-aG9dH9VBegWi5DDfYLuu4fepvA1ekbqzGw_Ct_ZWUdvQH98OLJA3jC65hucttbxmOKkyy9XsZbA88J-kQCrTnkIc7drmXaQFXzIvDaD86HwBTqVOwKsAD0aqF8Vkkd38JJu6GlzJEtyDbbIMJnDbwWTW9Hc_xfEdM_YJ_wXED-hvXL5vKOE8L_aj-aX_-8FmmYL7k9K0eV8kffSIiHag18LVgyMvOF_qL-FGWl5-zOscDiogdRd4YL4cAE2520r-pvqIlIY-v6Q_EPznrNAI2CuoaKMPg_OQoQ&__tn__=-UC-R
  9. G'day everyone. Here's my rendition of ICM's I-153. Very nice build. Good detail, nice fit, but their soft, flexible plastic made for interesting alignment of the long thin wings. It's built almost out of the box, eduard etched seatbelts (I wasnt a fan, and will stick to HGWs belts in the future), and Quickboost exhausts. Painted with MRP paints and rigged with EZline. Denzil
  10. Hi guys, This is my recent build. I was planning it as one week relaxing build and at the end it turned into 1 month Kit is really nice, however I noticed some problems with fit of the parts and many details are just out of scale or missing. It's compareble from buildabilty point of view to the Revell P-51D IMHO. I have added Eduard PE set and HGW seatbelts and some wires. Painted with Mr.Paint and Mr.Color. AMMO Washes, pigments and filters used as well. Not my best build overall, but I intent to use it as motivation recovery between the resin builds Thanks for looking jan
  11. New Chaika from ICM, nice kit, fast to build. I made conversion to early type - with spinner similar to I-16 or I-15 Bis. I think that it is prettier than late - but it is only my opinion. It looks like a cartoon plane, from Mickey Mouse comic book . List of additions and modifications: - new spinner - new exhaust tube on fuselage, smaller exhausts on engine cover made from solder - some cables in cockpit and engine - rigging from fishing line - hollowed air inlet - tubes from syringe needle pushed into gun outlets on engine covers - masks used for red 8 number WIP: https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=75355&hl= Boys from same family
  12. We review a rather nice new release from ICM - the Bücker Bü 131D Huge number of schemes for this one, civil as well as military - and really nicely done too! Have fun, Iain
