  1. Here is my rendition of the Italeri Macchi C.200 Saetta. IMO a much better kit than their previous C.202 Folgore and 205 Veltro. Well-researched and including some minute unexpected details. The general fit is very good providing each part is thoroughly cleaned up before assembly. Just a minute amount of putty was used during this build. You can find a build log HERE. I chose to represent the Macchi in one of the transition camouflage schemes of the pre-Tavola X period. Before the implementation of the Tavola X which regulated the paints and camouflage schemes, aircraft factories used their own paint brands and camouflage schemes. Thus the colours used were at best random even when regrouped under the same denomination: giallo mimetico (yellow), bruno mimetico (brown), verde mimetico ( green) and grigio azzurro (grey). These are my interpretations of these colours based on b/w period photos and descriptions from the numerous Italian experts. I also chose to depict the idiosyncrasies of the two main C.200 builders on each side of the fuselage, Macchi on the port and Breda on the starboard. Like I said, these are my interpretation. Hopefully it will fit your own mental image. Until next time on another journey, Cheers, Quang
