  1. They sure have a strange sense of humour in the Czech Republik. Must be the beer or sumthin' like that...
  2. Well done, and well deserved, Oliver. Congratulation!
  3. The (old tool) Revell EC-135. Lacking interior details, all major parts warped and deformed, windscreen and fuselage are not separated by a gap, but a void of interstellar dimension, flash everywhere and to add insult to injury, the rotor spins in the wrong direction. Surface detail of the fuselage was great, though...
  4. Okay, in my case, it was a FW 190 and not a Me 109, but both the Eduard and the Montex mask were the mentioned solution which didn't work for me... ...though not to discourage anyone, one should probably nonetheless try out first what works best for him
  5. As I couldn't do anything to get several masks to conform to my '190's spinner, I went a different way: I started applying the spiral included in Hasegawa's sheet, and made it conform to the spinner as good as possible. No big deal that the decals are slightly translucent, more cream than white and have bright spots where they overlap after you took care of a crease in the decal with a small cut and some decal softener. As the spirals were a rather rough brush job instead of cleanly masked and evenly sprayed, I took some Vallejo white, a fine brush and painted over the decal. Going slightly over the border and leaving some streaks behind was okay, as it emphasizes the rough nature of that handpainted job. Should work with yellow, too
  6. The last Revell kit I worked on was the BAe Hawk and had no problems there. Some automotive kits use a little different plastic for the body than the other sprues, but so far I never had an experience like this, too.
  7. It seems to be stable. I bought a tube three or four years ago, misplaced it and just found it again these days. Still fine so far.

    NEAT

Maybe adding some rearward lenght to the tracks, like the Brits did with the Mk.IV 'Tadpole' prototype tank, may help overcome that issue
  9. Hm, doesn't look all that hard to make from brass tubing etc. Yeah, filigran parts with overly huge gates are a huge annoyance.

    CF-104

Okay, that took me a moment until it got through... ...I'll follow with interest. It's a '104 after all...
  11. If space is no concern, you may consider tire weights. The sticky ones for alloy wheels, not those you attach with a hammer...
  12. Barbie pink ...that should keep a few minds busy for a while now...
  13. Very nice bike you built there. For your specific Duc red, as you are in the UK, you might want to check Zero Paints from Hiroboys.
  14. I already had it in my hands, but decided not to buy it this month. Probably next and may do a review, if no one is quicker than me... ...I hope the rotor is spinning in the right direction this time...
  15. Together with the gloves, its the anti-flash gear, which is to provide some fire protection.
  16. The more I read this, the more I know where my April money will go...
  17. Some Mk.II engine gondolas would be appreciated...
  18. Thanks Brian, that is exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for to finish the base of my '190 (also on a wooden plank base, but scratchbuilt), but I haven't found these longer strands of fibres, just the short shredded static grass in a bag, which is impossible to make into tufts, or prefabricated tufts, that are a little sparse and a little broad. Gotta look around a bit more, it seems
  19. Oh barnacles! There are already 3 options I'd like to build...
  20. I'm growing to the idea of a digital camo...
  21. Great work on the vegetation. What did you use for the grass tufts?
  22. Reminds me I have a half finished XP-38 from the Revell kit in the basement...
  23. Are there any export Buckeyes in original white/orange scheme? I thought I've seen a picture of a Venezuelan aircraft in that outfit, but as I can't find it, I might be completely wrong...
  24. Mighty impressive Lightning, Paul!
