  1. I was appalled at the media and speculation about her. It seemed they lacked the most basic insight into the fact that the media had such a large part to play in the death of that man's mother. Yet decades later, here they are again. Met the Queen and Prince Philip briefly when I was young. Not much into the Royals, any of the drama but always admired Queen Elizabeth and her devotion to duty. I can't recall many statesmen/women in the world in the last 70yrs who so consistently did a good job for their country. A young mum with kids and cancer. I hope she gets better and left the hell alone to heal. Matty
  2. Kinda feel a little sad/sense of loss about that for some reason. Someones not around to get done what they'd clearly imagined themselves doing. Seemed a pretty handy individual as well.
  3. You know I have Army trucks galore that you could have supercheap. Still clearing Ians stash. I also have quality reference material on them.
  4. Welcome Tim. Thanks for the support and look forward to seeing your products. I hope we can help out. Matty
  5. @LSP_Ray Cross-flow heads that early in the war with the HL-42. We didn't have cross-flow heads on Aussie cars till about the 80's.
  6. I've also heard an old leather belt that can act like a barbers strop can help in keeping them sharp. X-acto seem stiffer blades than many of the scalpel blades I have. I've always used those Arkansas whetstones for sharpening periodontal instruments when scraping teeth clean (removing barnacles)
  7. They are beefy. They look about 30nb. Thanks for the pic. A lot of car, jeep seats are more like 12-15nb. I'll grab some wire and have a crack at bending some up. Curious to have a go. Cheers Matty
  8. I think I preferred the Das Werk seat. The pipe frame on the others looks humungous, like something you'd be making bullbar or rock sliders out of. I reckon it'd be worth using some tapered round beak pliers to hand bend the springs and use stock card for the seat back. Bend a few so that it'd look so homogenous. Thanks mate. Great snapshot. Matty
  9. That was very interesting. I feel inertia in the vehicles I drive or ride. It's often surprised me how seemingly over-confident a few family members or friends are driving vehicles with lots of inertia but at speed. Where I can feel that 'vector' he's speaking about they seem oblivious to it. It's super disconcerting. I don't know if it's just my imagination but that plane looked like it was going forwards but still falling out of the sky at a phenomenal rate. So glad they're OK and no one else was hurt. Dan seems the luckiest of all. It seems like that seat was right at its minimums. He barely seemed to have a swing under a full canopy. Matty
  10. Eating fried chicken...the pub-grade medical test for showing a good sign of recovery. Good to hear he is doing well. Sorry to hear he had an accident in the first place. Matty
  11. I just checked the latest news on this unfortunate incident. If the reports are accurate everyone is OK and there are no casualties on the ground. I hope your mate is OK @Pete Fleischmann https://www.wtol.com/article/news/local/mig-23-jet-crashes-at-air-show-outside-of-detroit/512-f405d122-ed42-4730-b1b0-841b42bba8c1
  12. If you have calipers you could try to measure the No 3 handle. Mine are 2->2.2mm wide and 17.6mm long where the scalpel slides over tucks into a groove to secure it to the handle. I have No 11 and No 13 blades. The No 10 blade looks as though it shoud fit the #3 handle.
  13. Nah it's too small a handle Kev. With the correct-sized handle it will be very snug, won't move at all and can be tricky to get out. You'll need a pair of needle-nosed pliers to lift the back of the scalpel blade and slide it forward and off. Ebay link
  14. I updated the prices for the 1/32 PZL kits. They're selling for cost price at $50 each. PM me if you're interested. Thanks Matt
  15. If you get stuck for any reason, you can hand the baton to me mate. Happy to help out if needed Cheers Matty
  16. Warp Factor 9 Mr Sulu. Fun video. Saw this on YouTube at Goodwood. Absolutely mental speed and handling. Looks like he had quite a bit of fun.
  17. I gather there might be some discussions ongoing between him, US and Aus. Whether or not Hornets are the right platform might be another issue. One I'd heard anecdotally about from a patient who serviced them (he took X-rays of them)was the airframes are quite fatigued and they're G-limited more than normal. I mentioned that on Twitter to some of the NatSec accounts and a few people had the view it was more than just scuttlebut. Hard to know where they'll end up. In either location, I'm sure they'll be put to good use. Matty
  18. Thanks for you kind thoughts Greg. Ian didn't have that title. I'm not sure but I could possibly have it myself. I know I have a few of those Ventura books from Malcolm in NZ. I'll make some space and have a rummage. Later Edit: I had a look mate. Turns out I have No 10 but not No 11. Sorry. I thought it sounded familiar. Cheers Matty
  19. I saw it the other night on YouTube. It's massive and the moulding looks awesome. A must get. Matty
  20. Hi all, Here's the link to the thread in the Vendors Board for some bargains on kits and books. Everything is explained in the original post but this liquidation is on behalf of the family for one of LSP's sponsors that tragically passed away in 2022. I'll have more to list if there is interest. Both my late friend Ian (Janterpol Books) and I would prefer LSP'ers to have an opportunity. Thanks, Matty
