Bill M. got a reaction from J.C. in Problems with Post Office?!
Are other people having problems with the Post Office not delivering things?
Around February 15th, I ordered a set of Operation Bolo decals from Indiana and some Oramask stencil material from Michigan. The tracking says that the items are delayed but “on their way”. Both items shipped by priority or first class mail. There have been no new tracking entries for days since they were received in the originating states.
Maybe I’m impatient, but I have to fear the shipments have been lost or damaged. Surely don’t care for the post office nowadays...

    Guys,
I have had similar problems with the USPS in recent months. It seems to me that stuff going from west to the east coast is very slow. I have had several personal items not delivered on December ( bills) that never showed up. It’s interesting that my sales of items on eBay have gone through very well with no delays.

Oh yes, here too. My friend sent me a book from Germany way before Christmas, never showed up, so he sent a second one about a week ago. The first one arrived last week, and the second one arrived yesterday. 2.5 months for one, 2 weeks for the other. The tracking never did work, no updates at all.

I've had two packages in the last month or so go from the east coast to HAWAII, then back to the midwest, then finally here to the Pacific NW. What the hell? The tracking worked on those, at least.

Oh ya, the package that came yesterday had to be signed for, and no one was home, so the postman left a form saying I could reschedule delivery. I followed the instructions on their website. It said that redelivery was available, but the tracking number printed on the form was invalid! Fortunately, it had the local PO phone number on the form, so I called, and they said "it's good thing you didn't reschedule that, because it would have sat here for weeks. We aren't doing redeliveries right now because we are too busy with regular deliveries"!!!!!!!! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!! At least she said dropping by to pick it up in person was no problem. Good grief, this organization is more of a dis-organization.

The old Cutting Edge ones are undersized as well.

I had a pic in my Photobucket account comparing the kit, CE, Aires, Eduard and GT Resin burner cans. Only the GT Resin cans were the correct size. The rest were all undersized/smaller in diameter.

Perhaps an addendum could be added to the Phantom tweek lists identifying the various burner cans and which are sized properly and which are not.

    Thoughts?

We're looking for references now. I'm also working on LAU-33 two shot 5.00" rocket launchers and possibly corrected and detailed pylons for the F-8.

Aires, Eduard are both original size.
You need Dmold, Wolfpack, GT resin or Sierra Hotel.
They are the only correctly sized exhausts i know of.
Highly recommend the SH and GT sets as i have used or test fitted and compared them.
Ive said before having the right sized burners makes a massive visual difference to the Tamiya F-4.
A base kit and modified one look noticeably different..
    Well worth the effort.

I emailed Gary at GT today with the suggestion. Jennings, perhaps you could do the same? I think you could provide a valuable contribution to such a project.

BTW, I have been interested in Operation Bolo since I first discovered the mission and the details supplied by Fox One.

Furthermore, my compliments on a well researched package of instructions and decals.

That would be a fantastic idea.  An all-in-one early F-4C set.  I’m happy to help anyone who wants to do it with whatever research I can contribute.

Perhaps its worthwhile for GT to consider a complete Bolo resin set for the Tamiya kit. It would include alternate nose radome, MB seats, appropriate launch rails, jamming pod and C/L drop tank.

Having somehow amassed two F-4C/D kits through the years I wasn't looking forward to buying a Marine J as the next best option.

    Mark,
I actually was in touch with GT Resin yesterday.  He said he would be restocking those items at Sprue Brothers next month—March. Included will be the ALQ-71 ECM pod for F-4’s, F-4 centerline tank and USAF outer pylons... and other parts too.

If anyone in contact with GT Resins, this might be a good time to cast the applicable 32nd scale Bolo mods currently listed as OOS at Sprue Brothers. I know he is a one man show, but there is an opportunity here to make a few sheckles I think.

If you’re looking for correctly sized burner cans for an E or a J, I just happened to run across these on Shapeways—

Don’t know anything about them except that they claim they are the “right size”.

I just ordered a set of the early ejection seats directly from Harold at AMS Resin. He says he can make more if anyone else needs them. Email him directly at—

I am getting excited about the new Fundekals Operation Bolo decals and I have decided I need to build an F-4C Phantom as was a part of Operation Bolo. It looks like an early F-4C should have Martin Baker Mk. 5 ejection seat rather than the later Mk. 7 seat.
Does anyone make a good aftermarket Mk. 5 seat that would be correct for the early F-4C? Thanks!

But to bring us back to earth, In view of Tamiya not doing any 1/32 kits recently, I don’t see that happening... as nice as that would be!
