  1. As some of you know, I started this project about 2 years ago. I had to stop because I simply did not have any time to work on it. So, the original attempt got damaged, (don't know how), and so instead of fixing it, I just started over One of the thinks that went missing is the canopy mold, so I'll have to make a new one, and send the first one to Jack, who has been so patient. My apologies to you for this, my freind. So here are a few pics to show the progress... Lee

    P-40N

Hey everyone, It's posts like this that remind me of how far we have come as modellers. I have an old issue of Scale Modeler, in which the author of an article describes how he converted the E to an N, using the 1/32 Revell kit. It was very much a "Cut here and hack there" article, and he mentions that it was a good _weekend_ project. Now, it takes longer to just get the documentation in order!!! Semper Styrene, Lee
  11. Beautiful. Absolutley beautiful. I feel like a proud grandparent- and I'm only 42!! Lee
  12. To most folks, those panel lines might appear a bit "heavy handed", but if you look at the Lock-on book, you will see that the real one is actually pretty poorly put together, panel-wise, and the heavy handed look is pretty close to the real ones! Western fighters are assembled with nary a gap between the panels, whereas the flanker, the flanker has large, dirty gaps. The titanium gun trough looks as if it was a poorly considered add-on, and the fit shows this.
  13. Looks like you did some SERIOUS kitbashing to your Huey!!
  14. Wow! A Command Performance!! We'll see about another Bronco, but if I do another, I'll let you know when it's ready. I've got too much stuff on my plate right now, and don't want to commit to anything unless I really can deliver. We'll see!! Lee
  15. Arrg!! The latest pic won't load for me!! Anyone else having this problem? Lee
  16. Just in case you are not familiar with this bird, here is a pic of the real deal!!
  17. I found this on the IPMS Missouri website- Too cool!!
  18. Hi Guys! I've had a few folks inquire as to progress, so I'm posting a pic to update what's happining on it. I had not done much to it for about 2 months, but now I've got a cockpit, (not yet painted) almost done, and I cut out the canopy to see how it fits. Well, it seems to be short by about 3MM! I can't figure out when/where this happened, but I'll be able to make it work by sliding back the pilot's portion, and moving the front half forward a smidge, and that should camoflauge this problem. I'll try to be a little more timely in the future with these updates. Thanks to everybody whom has asked about it!! Lee
  19. Hey Jack!! The Bronco looks great!! I understand the need to re-work some parts of the model, since I now realize that that I myself would have done some things differently if I were building it today. I agree with your assessment that the nose needed to be re-worked. Originally, I was going to build an A model, but when I found a pic of the YOV-10D NOGS Bronco, which had a 20mm turret under the pod, I modified the nose. That's why the model had no pylons included. Keep us all posted on the build up. Also, to anyone following the build, you should all know the level of scratchbuilding involved on Jack's part is truly amazing. I started this model, and know all the "skeletons in the closet" involved in its construction, and the level of work he has done to make it an acceptable model is simply incredible. Lee
  20. OK, I guess i'm gonna have to print a retraction here- The model reviewed by the good Dr. isn't the one I had. Now I'm going to have to research which kit I had. Maybe I can start by asking; "Who made the worst 1/32 Zero kit?" Thanks, Lee
  21. Had this kit a while back. Paid $6 for it, and gave it away. HUGE rivets and very basic detailing. I'm not sure what it would take to backdate a -5 to a -2, other than the cowl and exhaust, it prolly would be worth it using a Hase Zero.
