Yay! Another helo! Looks good Jens- keep up the good (and prolific!) work! Lee

Yup- Like Jack said, do whatever scheme you'd like, regardless of what others have chosen. Get the Tony Landis book, and read thru it. Making a decision early on will affect how you build your model- for instance, the #1 bird had no forward cockpit, the #6 bird had a large sugar scoop exhaust shroud, as seen in Jack's and mine posted pics, also the #6 bird was the only one to wear the tactical scheme and have the large wing. The #9 bird had the pilots cockpit in front, instead of the rear, as is normal, and had a downward firing C-2 seat from an F-104. I myself am leaning toward the ill-fated bird #3. Various bumps and turrets varied too depending on the airframe number. If you want to do a hypothetical sceme, ship #7 was said to being closest to looking like what a production machine would have looked like. HTH! Lee

Hi Larry- If I can think of anything, I'll give you a shout. I think that Jack is going to do the tactical paint scheme shown in his post, but I'm gonna do the overall OD and yellow stripe paint job. Even though only 10 Cheyennes were ever built, they caried a myriad of paint schemes, from low viz with no markings, to hi viz with large areas of fluorescent red paint. What scheme are you going for ?? See ya! Lee

As some of you know, I started this project about 2 years ago. I had to stop because I simply did not have any time to work on it. So, the original attempt got damaged, (don't know how), and so instead of fixing it, I just started over One of the thinks that went missing is the canopy mold, so I'll have to make a new one, and send the first one to Jack, who has been so patient. My apologies to you for this, my freind. So here are a few pics to show the progress... Lee

Brad- I have found the Scale Modeler issue w/ the P-40N article, but have lost your address- Please forward and I will send it out pronto!! Lee
-
It's an E-28/39, England's first jet-powered aircraft. Who makes one in 1/32? Lee

Hi Brad, Don't have a scanner, but if you give me your snail addy, I'll dig out the article and send you a copy. Lee

Hey everyone, It's posts like this that remind me of how far we have come as modellers. I have an old issue of Scale Modeler, in which the author of an article describes how he converted the E to an N, using the 1/32 Revell kit. It was very much a "Cut here and hack there" article, and he mentions that it was a good _weekend_ project. Now, it takes longer to just get the documentation in order!!! Semper Styrene, Lee

To most folks, those panel lines might appear a bit "heavy handed", but if you look at the Lock-on book, you will see that the real one is actually pretty poorly put together, panel-wise, and the heavy handed look is pretty close to the real ones! Western fighters are assembled with nary a gap between the panels, whereas the flanker, the flanker has large, dirty gaps. The titanium gun trough looks as if it was a poorly considered add-on, and the fit shows this.

Looks like you did some SERIOUS kitbashing to your Huey!!

Wow! A Command Performance!! We'll see about another Bronco, but if I do another, I'll let you know when it's ready. I've got too much stuff on my plate right now, and don't want to commit to anything unless I really can deliver. We'll see!! Lee
