Really nice work. That Revell cockpit is a serious candidate for some Spanish School treatment to make it pop.

Sprue goo using plastic from the same kit should do it -
What percentage of the airframe would need to be silver to qualify? I’m thinking something with a silver underside, but camouflage top…,

Get the Alcorn book, it will hold your hand thru the entire process, it’s not as scary as you might think. -

There are actually 2 out there in the wild, the best being the Schmitt-Modellbau kit, and the Combat kit. The Combat kit might be more readily available (in a relative sense), but the Schmitt kit is a gem. https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=608 -

Hmm, probably a Voodoo, Xf10F Jaguar, and something French from the 1950s. -
They are back in stock, got my intake and nose gear today.

If you have the Trumpeter F-100 kit, you’re halfway there….. https://hyperscale.com/2009/features/f107a32fm_1.htm

Great choice of models, I actually built, and finished(!) this kit back in the 1990s. One weak area of this kit is the nose gear fork, it will snap/collapse in an instant if you look at it wrong. Just wanted you to be aware of this!

Hi Plm, your build looks great! Could I ask you to post some pics of the landing gear? I have an Fw-58, which has similar gear, but I’m not sure how it all goes together. Thanks!

Go for it!!

Thanks for the nose gear info, gear and nose ring ordered.

Huh. I must have been asleep under a rock when this GB was announced, this is the first I’m hearing of it. Sounds fun, though….

I’m glad they arrived safe. The canopy,or windscreen part, was attached when packaged, so I can only surmise that the postal workers were re-enacting one of those old Samsonite commercials with your package. But, I’m glad it’s gone to a new home, I hope we see the finished product one day!

Scott, I have an unused clear sprue for that kit. DM me your addy and I’ll post it.

YF-16 memorable take off video
Lee White replied to Martinnfb's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
I seem to remember the old 1976 Tamiya 1/48 kit being a YF, with the thin nose and 2-piece nose gear doors. -
This hurts to read, although I’ve been there myself. All that effort, energy, and enthusiasm down the drain. I guess that’s why I don’t do RC, all that work and “SPLAT!”. I remember almost being sick when Ruzlkampf binned his 80% complete 1/32 SR-71. Ugh.
