  1. Thanks again all! Ray, cool! I can't wait to see it! I'm going to have to spend my summer on a lot of comission work but when those jobs are done I also plan to do another JG/4 A8. This time I will go for "black 10", looks awesome with it's blown canopy. Steve.
  2. Thanks again! Getting all warm and fuzzy here! LSP Chris, I know exactly what you mean. This has been pointed out before but I decided that I just had to live with it, at least for now. The hatches was putted smooth but the entire wing joints broke up when the sucker was dropped. I redid the putty work but after the RLM's where on I noticed that joints could still be seen. At that point I was so fed up with the model that I decided to leave it and hope nobody would notice! I will definatly pay more attention on these parts when I build my Dora. CQBDent, I finally was able to remove the residue with rubbing alcohol. Sadly it removed most of the paint too so all the masking work had to done all over again. Steve.
  3. Thanks a bunch guys! I have to say that I'm actually quite thrilled with the finished model so it means a lot to me that you guys approve on it too! Smithery, no it's true. It's my first a/c build, that's if you don't count the stuff I built as a kid only to be able to blow them up with fire crackers! I'm not new to modeling though, I've spent most of my time with Star Wars sci-fi kits. After I've taken care of some Star Wars comission work I'm doing for a Brittish customer I'll start on my Dora too. Mango Kid, if you only got your fat Panzer thumb out of your.....the 109 K would look just as good! Chris/germany, thanks! The chipping was done with a silver pen, it was really easy to work with! The best thing is that it's quite easy to clean it of with water if a mistake is made. Chris Hannover, thanks, It's means a lot! You should be proud too, I've been following all your threads and your work looks fantastic! Can't wait to see what you'll build next! Steve.
  4. I may be the slowest builder on earth but I'm sooooo glad to say that I finally managed to finish my "white 11" Sturmjager model, and without any new disasters too! As some of you know this project have been struck hard with misshaps and foul up's, infact some times things looked so bad that I thought I would never be able to finish it properly. Since this is my first build I'm more then certian that there's several mistakes made but don't be affraid to point them out, I plan to build more A8's so if any improvments can be made I'm all ear! I huge thanks goes out to all of you who have offered me help and advice, thanks all! An EXTRA big thanks goes to my good buddy "Mango Kid"! Without he's help I wouldn't have been able to finish the kit, come to think of it, without him I wouldn't even be in this hobby! Here's a break down of the build, Model: Hasegawas 1:32 FW-190 A8. Great detail but lots of bad fitting parts. Cockpit: MDC. Fantastic details, awesome cast, good fit! Main and rear wheels: Eagle parts. Great details and and flawless cast, nuff said! Decals: Eagle strike "Rammjager" part 2 sheet. Great decals, no problem what so ever! Stencils: Hobby decals dry transfers. Fantastic result when they worked......horrible when they didn't. I found out that the white ones where harder to use then the black. National insignia masks: Eduard. No problem there, worked as a sharm. Their spinner spiral mask sucked hard though! Canopy mask: Montex. Worst product ever! Even though I took of some of the glue they almost totally ruined my canopy. Glue residue everywhere, very hard to get it off! I will never use their masks again! Scratch built items: New gun camera, 20mm-30mm barrels, lop antenna, morena antenna, airial wire, brake wires and hoses, canopy rails, cockpit armour wires, fuselage armour, rivits added with "Rosie". Paints: Gunze and Tamiya acrylics, Valejo for brush painting, Prisma colors silver pencil for chipping. All of them worked as a sharm! Well, I guess that's it, I hope you like the end result! Thanks for all the suport! Steve.
  5. Chris, It turned out great! I really like the weathering job you've done on the prop and spinner! Once again I'm surprised how fast you're able to finished your kits. Steve.
  6. It's turning out great Chris! The spinner blades looks very cool! The spounge you're using looks like some kind of a Scotch Brite pad. Steve.
  7. Chris, that looks fantastic! The post shading really adds a nice depth to the model. It's going to be a great treat to see the finished model! Steve.
  8. Thanks all! It's great to hear that you like what's been done so far. I just hope that I'm able to add the final tuches without braking it..............for the hundred time. LSP_Chris, I hear you on the primer color. I couldn't find any color pics that showed this detail so I had to copy the color used by other builders. There's still time to tone it down with some pastel powder but I'll probably save that for later. BTW, does anybody here know where I can find Ez-line for the radio wire? The only ones I could find that sold it was a model rail road company based in the U.S. and they didn't take credit cards or PayPal. Steve.
