  1. The "Dromader" agricultural aircraft looks promising. Especially because I missed the Dromader kit from 2008 (which also was in 1/35 scale). Regards - dutik
  2. Fine. While still tinkering with the frot wheel well I started to work with other subassemblies to speed up things somewhat: The intake ducts, which recieve a coat of white primer inside (to be followed by gloss white paint). Intake parts are keyed and handed. Be careful not to cut or break off the little "spine" at the outside of the intakes while removing the print supports! The exhaust nozzles are made from resin and sturdy. Oldschool The bottom part of the fuselage is that wobbly I was a bit anxious it might break between the large UC openings during handling the sprues at the workbench. So I also added the main wheel wells. Fit at the outer edge was so-so. Now the bottom is much more solid. Nice. Regards - dutik
  3. OK, new hoster found. Going with imgbb. Is it visible? Recieved the exhaust nozzles and a set of Sidewinders for the Tiger. The nozzles are resin, not 3D printed. Now this has become a full multi-media build: styrene, PE, 3D prints, resin, 3D printed cockpit decals, brass undercarriage. Not to forget a quantom of lead for the nose. Regards - dutik
  4. Oh, well, Houston, we've got a problem here... My photo hoster does any longer upload photos. Storage is full, handling more storage involves too much work for a non-profit hoster. So no in-progress photos the next days. I have to look for a new hoster, with reasonable prices to store my hobby photos. Maybe imageshack, but I am still looking around. Keep your fingers crossed thad my hoster doesn't fold down completly, forcing me to save all my photos at my own pc, than to upload them again elsewhere and link all of them a second time to all my threads and posts... Regards - dutik
  5. While painting the wheel well I did some research about the soil in Ethiopia for an appropriate wheatering. Interesting search. Some international nutrition agencies even made a soil mapping of Ethiopia to determine the fertile areas... So most areas are of a sandy ochre, some more like Tamiyas JSDF brown color, some dark as coffee ground, and you even find some reddish soil. Not as red as in SE Asia, but reddish nevertheless. Ethiopian airfields were in the "ochre" areas, so this might become my dust color. BTW, fertile soil: If you like espresso then try to lay your hands on some espresso coffee from Ethiopia. It has not only an aromatic scent in the tin, but even when brewed, and a nice floral taste beside the coffee notes. Hard to get but worth to dig for it! I love it! (guess you got that point ) Regards - dutik
  6. Scratchbuild? Even more impressive Regards - dutik
  7. I have started cutting styrene. The kit is somewhat demanding. The kits I've been building before were a Takom SAM and a Hobbyboss tank. Both shake-n-bake kits even with some complex railing alignment at the SAM launcher. Here dryfitting is recommended. A bit of sanding is required at most parts. Here and there the corresponding holes for alignment pins are plain lacking. Instructions are a bit so-so. First pics: I want to keep the starbord gunbay closed while the port bay will be left open. So I had one gunbay for practise. As you can see there is the ammo container misaligned compared to the gunbay with the PE, which will become the open one. Eduards PE is nice. As always a bit fiddly due to the lack of alignment points (added some styrene from behind where invisible), but it adds a lot. Regards - dutik
  8. Very promising so far Is this the Lemkit kit? Regards - dutik
  9. Well, this is eleminating some alignment problems and some seams, but painting the cockpit side walls might become an issue... Regards - dutik
  10. Great work! Bob's buckles might have solved the eylet issues too, but they are no longer available. At least not at the moment. So the DIY or Gaspatch anchor points are the way to go. Regards - dutik
  11. Nice sneakers , but an odd shoe box. ... Great haul, congrats! Have fun modelling! Regards - dutik
  12. Without answering this issue I want to point to the fact that MBK Germany did initially not recieve any postwar Ninak kits at the beginning of the sales by error of WNW, while the other retailers recieved them. But later in the year the Ninak popped up at MBKs shop. There also re-emerged WNW kits at MBK that were marked as "sold out" earlier in the year. So I just think that the remaining WNW kits were sent to the known retail shops in batches. Maybe - but this is a pure guess of mine - there are still a few kits elsewhere in a storage, just overlooked or forgotten back then. But I would not bet my money on this. Regards - dutik
  13. Got this from sale. I know, there is no LSP kit of this aircraft, except a 3D print that needs a lot of work of love, but just in case... Who knows? Maybe we shall see a new kit popping up next year...? Regards - dutik
  14. IMHO that's not too much. I know someone who is making russian PAG-14 plates, about the same size of your flight deck, who is asking 100 USD per set. Very accurate ones, with the fine diamond thread surface and the sunken-in eyelets, but 100 bucks each Very nice product line, indeed! Regards - dutik
  15. Thank you for this short review! I was online looking at the set without having a clue and holding back my money not to waste it. But now it's a clear go! Regards - dutik
  16. You are cranking Macchi parts out like there is no tomorrow! Very impressive Regards - dutik
  17. Are you still looking for WNW kits? Modellbau Koenig at Germany has got a restock of ten different kits. Or maybe opend up another shipping container in their vaults... The AEGs, both DH-9s, the Felixstowe and some more. OK, no Fokkers, Albatrosses or Sopwiths here, but still a nice collection Even better news: 8 of the 10 kits are on sale during the Black week, i.e. right now. Also ZMs Bf-109 G-14 and the "big gun" Henschel 129. Regards - dutik
  18. Good work! Have the kit in the stash too (the checkered trainer version) and watching your build with interest. Regards - dutik p.s Of course is a nearby LHS a good reason to visit the famiy then and when
  19. Modellbau Koenig from Germany has pulled some more WNW kits out of the storage... Still now on the "I am all set" side? Come to the dark side. We have cookies WNW-kits Regards - dutik
  20. Nice and interesting subject If you ever want to see a Tomcat escorting a Bear onto a combat mission you have to take a look to Iran Sidenote: Dunno what your experiences with Techmod decals. My sets tended to break apart or even to shatter into a gazillion of pieces. Might be a good idea to make a scan of the decals before use, just in case the need to print one more set arises. Regards - dutik
  21. Some ground crew figures and maybe a vignette. Also for a gundum as xmas gift for my youngest (16 now). Well, if I find some LSP stuff it wouldn't hurt either... Regards - dutik
  22. Nice stuff! Is this made by Dragon or someone else? I like the "canopy masks". Might become handy if you want to wheater the cockpit or even to repaint it. Regards - dutik
