This HpH MiG-15 was started last year.  It is my first completed resin kit.  The learning curve is steep, but I am finally done.  I cannot wait to get started on the HpH La-7.
I hope you like it. Any critiques or suggestions are WELCOME!

This time the model F-117, the model is very simple to fold and very difficult to paint.
I tried to make this model many times I took it off the shelf and put it back.

Reason?  One question: How to make a black model wouldn't just be black? I build models straight from the box and so I always try to focus on painting.
I often make models that are a bit too heavily damaged, dirty but in my opinion is the only way to give them a bit of life.

F-117 Trumpeter 1:32 the model is very easy to fold and you will not have any problems.

billwinkes reacted to Radub in NEW: "Red Nose P-51D-5 Mustang Aces" Decals
RB Productions is going to launch a new decal sheet at the IPMS Scale Model World show in Telford on 10/11 November 2018. This is a decal sheet featuring four P-51D-5 Mustang aircraft flown by USAAF aces. As usual from RB Productions, these decals have a Romanian link. Many of the victories included in the scoreboards painted on these aircraft were gained in the skies of Romania during the spring/summer of 1944. What makes these victories even more impressive is that these aircraft were based on the Eastern coast of Italy, a distance of over 1000 Km away from Romania. All aircraft feature a "Red Nose", a distinctive feature that helped the Romanian and Luftwaffe pilots identify them as their foe.
These decals are available in the following scales:
1/32 (Perfect for the new Revell kit): http://www.radubstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_65&products_id=741
    1/48: http://www.radubstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_66&products_id=742
1/72: http://www.radubstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_67&products_id=743   RB Productions will have a stand at the IPMS Scale Model World show held in Telford on the week-end of 10-11 November 2018. You can pre-order any items from the store to collect at the show if you wish to save on postage. A discount of 10% will apply to pre-orders collected at the show. To pre-order, you only need to log in, use the shopping cart to create your order, choose the "Shop Pick-up" shipping method, choose to pay in advance or pay at the show and then complete your order. Please place your order before 8 November. We are looking forward to meeting you in Telford. Thank you for your support!

After over two years, this one is finally done! The kit does build into an impressive model pretty much out of the box, if the fuselage panel lines are sharpened up a tad. I chose a longer route and foiled the beast, after an overall sand and polish, to deal with those pesky panel lines. There is a fair amount of scratch building in the cockpit, using the kit pieces with any semblance of detail removed as a basis, and also some of the Eduard panels. Many of the Eduard pieces were chopped and rearranged to get what I wanted. The flying instrument panel and instrument shroud/gunsight were scratch built as neither the kit nor the Eduard parts present the Canadian version. The build can be found here. Overall, no problems. Glue the front and rear fuselage sections together before joining the fuselage halves and use internal fillets for the wing/fuselage joints are the only essential tricks on this one.

    Extras used were:
Eduard interior  Airscale instruments and bezels Aires control columns Eduard electronic boxes (chopped up and added to) Eduard exterior (only a couple of pieces in the end - I should have saved my money and used whiskey bottle foil instead) Eduard seat with fabric belts(very very nice - essential really) Eduard wheels (the kit ones are incorrect for the Cf 104) Eduard burner can Aires wheel bays (the main bay is especially good and for the most part is visible despite the gear doors) Master pitot tube (metal and essential for durability alone) Videoaviation wing and central pylons (also beautiful pieces) CMK rocket pod (chopped and modified - I only needed it for the end pieces which I had trouble scratch building) Canuck Symmetrical Markings (amongst the best decals I've come across) Wessex Transfers (to print the decals for the Aete "X" markings and the tail flash) Mike Grant decals (various placards and a couple of instruments)
It was my first attempt at foiling and I am extremely grateful to members of this forum for their helpful posts on achieving that. It was suprisingly relaxing and certainly way more spouse-friendly than Alcad. For the record, I went through just over 400 cotton buds, 500ml of alcohol, over 40 blades, and somewhere around a metre of foil to do the job. The foil was common kitchen foil with heavy duty foil only used when I was treating it with bleach and egg shells. The Microscale foil glue was cut 50/50 with alcohol and sprayed onto the foil in two misted coats. And the airbrush survived without coming to a sticky end. I used a limited amount of chrome Bare Metal Foil for the canopy framing and the leading edge of the vertical stab. No polish was used as i wanted to retain the natural variation in the panels. Hard to photograph as it is quite subtle across the bulk of the fuselage. There's only very light weathering using oils and Flory washes.

It was also my first foray into attempting my own decals. The artwork was easy using a free download of Illustrator, but the successful printing on our Canon inkjet was not something I was able to conquer. I managed to get them printed and coated without colour bleeding, but the final product was just too flimsy and transparent to work with.

The first couple of photos were taken outside, but the sun is a tad harsh. The model is surprisingly long and a beggar to photograph.

Rather enjoyable build of the Revell Spitfire kit. One thing to note, its NOT Tamiya and I dont think the two kits can compare besides being Spitfire Mk.IX in 1/32 scale. This is not meant negatively, I am just putting things to perspective here.

This kit is targeted for a different audience and a different price bracket. The fit is very good, it builds quickly to a respectable replica of the Spitfire. It does lack in detail in some aspects and few items definitely need replacement such as the wheels, exhausts and most notably the gun barrels as those are rather unusable. Some molding is on the soft side and some may deem the rivets overdone. As far as I am concerned and my personal opinion is that Revell has produced a decent kit for the “masses” that will bring decent results even for a beginner modeler with equal amount of effort. Its a kit that you can buy in a local supermarket toy section and will not be disappointed. However please do not expect a superdetailed kit.

My build was deemed as just an easy quick build between bigger projects. It turned out to be an easy build but not quick due to time constraints. Funny enough it was originally intended to be ready for MosonShow 2017 but I barely made it for E-Day last week.

I also wanted to see how Revell coped with the subject. I have enjoyed every minute spend on the kit. All markings with the exception of the stencils are done by using masks prepared by myself and cut by a friend of mine on a silhouette plotter. In the end I am happy with the results, however not happy with the exhaust stains that I will have to still correct.

All in all a it was a fun and relaxing build (except the night before E-Day).

I'm calling this one done! Here's some pics of the finished model.I did leave the aft cabin removable so I can occasionally look at all the madness in the back, but I just love the look of that double bubble cabin on the model.used EZ-Line for the antennas so it wont break when opening it up at shows, as if I can ever get out of here.

Definitely a model with a unique character!

Never could find anybody left who could tell me the significance of the Pelican cartoon on the cowl, but I love nose art so there you go!

You can see one of the wire sway braces on the belly radome here, I used old guitar string.

Just a wee bit of dirt and staining behind the lap joints in the fuselage skinning. Tamiya Smoke thinned with alcohol and Post-It notes as masking.

Static discharge wicks are from fine lead wire , they bend instead of breaking , which is good since people always grab the model just before you can stop them.

I used a common lead pencil in select panel lines to get a bit of crud on the wings.Hard to see in the pics, but effective up close.

That's all for now....I haven't enjoyed a build more in a long, long time. There's just something about this version of the Skyraider that gives me "the fizz"...

Thanks for all the support and contributions to my thread on the build - I started it in tribute to Edgar Brooks - Mr Spitfire, and a small part of me like to think he would like what he sees. I must say it has been a really enjoyable build, a few dodgy moments, but with the help of the Monforton book it is like building from a kit, you just have drawings not parts

Not sure what comes next, but if you want to see this one then it will be on the competition table at Telford this year

Nice work on this one Keith ! The front intake was barely visible on the He100D. Yours is great looking but maybe a bit high ? Mind you, it may be only an optical illusion linked to white plastic on grey background.

Anyway, your work got me convinced. I got mine from CMK, which I'll convert to Dieterle's record V8 with its short-span wing.

Glad to see earthquakes did not put you off the bench for too long. Your record is certainly better than mine on this account (but it shows private family worries can be more influential than earth's turmoils..)
