  1. thanks Oliver I appreciate that. Its really been a learning experiance for me..this being the 2nd jet Ive ever built...I have to give the members here alot of credit since Ive learned most of it here.
  2. wow, thanks very the very kind compliments. Harold, Im not sure. The Eduard set says to fold them as well, but when I do that, the seat sits in a very awkward position..as of right now, how I have it sitting in the pit, it looks positioned just like the seats in the real photos. But I cant find any photos which show underneath when installed in the pit.
  3. noway..you couldnt make me finally..gettin to some fun stuff..painting! yepee! this cockpit has been a little frustrating..the dashboard didnt wanna fit right. also, judging by photos the dash over it looks too big..or too tall rather. it could just be from the angles of the reference photos, but it looks too tall to me, and the windscreen looks out of proportions as well. The kit supplied HUD though was a real piece of crap..basically a chunk of plastic compared to the real thing. and Im completely surprised that Eduard didnt address it at all. They only supplied two roundels for the lenses on it. no bracket for the glass piece at all!
  4. lookin great! even that photo of the full model doesnt relate to how large this model is. curious , did your Big Ed set come with the armament set as well? .. just asking cause I noticed on mine it comes with the parts that you replaced using styrene on the wing tanks.
  5. and so after getting this installed I find out that the backorder I had on the AM pit ..which I cancelled! has now been billed to me and shipped!
  6. hey guys..thanks evryone for the compliments..I really appreciate them and the feedback.. Matt...get it out ! heres some more progress ..I have the nose wheel well and cockpit installed.. now Im continueing on to the cockpit ..I opted out of useing the AM pit, I felt what I had goin already was workin fine.. what do ya think?
  7. lookin great so far. I agree, seems like most scrathbuilt cockpits look better than any resin aftermarket sets.
  8. Great work.. the paint jobs lookin good too. Ive got this kit in the stash.. think I'll do it next after I finish the 105.
  9. heres more work done so far.. johan inspired me to cut out the air vents.. yes...there are ALOT of them!
  10. after seeing your work on the vents..it inspired me to do mine as well.. but I noticed one thing..after I cut out the three holes near the nose..I noticed theyre not full holes.. but only a cut out with the metal bent inward.. I had to go back and fix mine see what I mean here... 105 on Prime
  11. Thanks guys for the compliments and the opinions on the kits. I agree with both of you on your points. For todays models, and the price of them, they should at the least have the dimensions of the kits correct. I have yet to compare the nose and tail fin to any drawings or photos..havent gotten that far yet. Are they noticable just by looking at them? Or only by comparing them to scale drawings? If just by the drawings, I doubt I will do anything with them. As for the details like the wheel wells, itd be nice to have some good "correct" detail in there, but Im not complaining that its not. Its actually making the kit fun to try and get the details in there. One complaint I really do have though is the landing gear. This is a BIG HEAVY model, I think it wouldnt be too much to ask for metal landing gear to be included in the kit.
  12. Heres a few shots of work done so far on the 105. Its been a slow go. I have very little time to do any modeling lately. Im using Eduards Big Ed set, the Avionix/BB wheel wells, and SAC landing gear (revised set) wish I had used the GFactor set. I still think I might go with the Avionix cockpit, but Im not sure yet. I did get the True Details wheels, but the nose wheel sucked, so I fixed the kit part (gap around the rim) with strip styrene. This helped to make the tire fit tighter around the rim eliminating the gap between the two.
  13. wow, very nice work. I applaud you for making the effort to correct details such as the switches and plumbing..even though most people viewing the kit cockpit details wouldnt know if they were correct or not.. I can understand the personal desire to have it right. nothing more satisfying than to sit back and say "I did that!"
  14. lookin great! I guess I shouldve taken the plunge..but instead ordered the Avionix set.
  15. thanks guys, the photos help to. your right , I think I'll just paint em up and go with it
  16. Im currently trying to continiue work on Trumps F105D..but Ive got a couple of 'dunnos" First...what do you guys think I should do with the nose wheel well..it sucks with the molded on plumbing. but, I cant seem to find a good reference for it..only a photo here and there, but nothing complete that shows WHERE everything goes to..sure I could cram a bunch of wires in there , but I like it to actually go where its suppose to.. orrr I could leave it like it is? I hate decisions.. second, should the wells be painted white? the green, or natural metal?
  17. This is looking great! I just started on my 105D this week ,with the Big Ed set as well. Your right about the instructions on the seat, I think there were a couple of errors on there if I recall.
  18. thanks guys for the compliments. I noticed on the wiring you refer to how flat it looks. something I do intend to remedy with wire.. but the other bits will really be useful.
  19. Hello everyone! Im finally getting around to working on some aircraft. This will be my first ever Me262, so Im not real familiar with the details. Im using the Aero Detail book, and the famous planes book on the 262 for reference. So far I have the Eduards interior set ..and Ive completed the cockpit. But, now that Ive continued further I see that it'll be useful to get the color exterior set (mainly because of the details in the wheel wells. so what do you think so far? any critiques welcome..
  20. laziness? damn, I couldnt get a nice BMF like that if I tried! lol
  21. I agree with you completely Dave. From seeing the photos and instruction sheets on Eduards site, the set looked great!, but, I just got them in and my immediate thought was..is there a fret missing? For the price, you really dont get much. But, I did luck up on a deal, I paid $20 for both the interior and seatbelts over at the ARC forum.
  22. Holy Crap! just got this baby in today..and man is it huge! I will definilty get the metal gear after seeing the size. Not sure what markings I'll do yet.havent looked around at options.
  23. thanks everyone for the great tips. Matt, you made the choice hard for me..cause that pit you have looks fantstatic! But I also like how Eduards looks. I guess whats going to sway me here is what I get for the $ , which with Eduards its alot. And I do believe I must get those Gfactor gears too, those look excellent. Thanks for posting the pics too ..really helps.
