  1. Personally, I don't like to see clean aircraft, especially WWII types. I like to see them as though they have seen a bit of use and not straight out of the factory. Regarding your's, I like the unclean look you have given them. Chris
  2. Simply stunning. Had to look twice before I believed they are models. Chris
  3. You can definitly count me in for G-6 conversion Chris
  4. That looks really good. I would love to have a go at one of these WW1 kits but all that rigging would do some serious harm to what little brain I have. Chris
  5. lovely paint job. i bet tamiya loves you with all the masking tape you'd have to use on it. chris
  6. I know that these will be no use to you but I thought I'd share them. These were took at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford last weekend. This is a zero that was shot down in the Pacific and recently salvaged. They say that this will be worked on but not sure if they mean to display or flight condition. Knowing the work that they put in on the aircraft, it will probably fly again in years to come. Chris
  7. Quick question regarding the colour of the brake pipes on the Bf 109K. Would these have been RLM02, same as the legs or possibly black? TIA Chris
  8. I know that the Tamiya offering will be worth having but me personally would have prefered a low back Mk.XVI or a PR.XIX. Having said that, I'll be having one of the Mk.IX kits. Hopefully the later marks will come at a later date. Also, would love somebody to release a Boulton Paul Defiant and a Westland Whirlwind (fighter not helicopter) in 1/32 scale. Chris
  9. ordered mine as soon as it was announced. Chris
  10. Be that as it may: Does anyone here have experience with the quality of Alley Cat's products and/or A2ZeeModels' service? Charles Metz Charles Alley Cat/A2zeemodels are well thought of over on Britmodeller regards service and quality. HTH Chris
  11. alley cat Linky for a conversion for Eduards 1/32 scale Me109 to turn it to a Me109T-2. Possibly ok for other brands. Chris
  12. After seeing your Dora I can't wait for this one. Chris
  13. James I promise not to tell anybody that you've possibly put the wrong coloured seat belts on. Chris
  14. Does anybody produce 1/32 scale replacement brass gun barrels for a 30mm cannon. Chris
  15. Thanks for the advice. That should save a lot of messing about.
  16. You may have read about my disaster on this forum regarding the Bf 109K cockpit. Well I've decided to carry on with the rest of it just in case I get hold of some replacement parts. I usually do RAF jets so the pits are no problem, either black with a light dry brush or grey with a dark wash. This is the first WWII aircraft that I will build but don't know what colour wash to do on a RLM66 base coat. Any tips would be most gratefully recieved. Cheers Chris
  17. Hopefully, like the Pheonix, it will rise from the ashes. That sounds posh
  18. If it was'nt for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. Started on the 109K-4 the other day. I'm using, amongst other items, the Eagle Editions pit. Have given the pit a coat of primer then a coat of enamel rlm66 and put to one side to cure. I went into the loft (my modelling area) after giving it 24 hours to cure to do some detail painting and what I came across was heart breaking. The tin that I keep the used celulose thinners in had leaked onto my work table. the result was 2 blobs of resin that used to be the instrument panel and cockpit floor. Just my luck that this was the first time that the tin had been left, accidently, on the table. That's a costly way to learn to be more careful in future. Chris
  19. Jim Dora looks the dogs danglies, pity the fencing is the wrong scale though Chris
  20. Only one word is needed, gorgeous. Chris
  21. Thats coming on a treat. Looking forward to seeing the finished article Chris
  22. I'm sure that Radu Briznan's seat harness's would do for the Ju88. Some one will surely say for definite. As I have said before on this site, if you try them you'll never again use etch belts. Chris
  23. Am I right in thinking that Trumpeter have given decals for the front instrument panel instead of their usual clear plastic offering?
  24. Totally agree with what James has said. Try them and I bet you'll never use p.e. belts again. Now if only he did RAF harness as well. Chris
