A wheel wells insert for the classic 1/24 scale Airfix P-51D, P-51K and Mustang Mk.IV kits has been added to the catalog.  Thanks for your patience!

The model features a separate coolant piping section, hydraulic accumulator, fuel tank selector valve, and inner doors actuator pistons.  Sprue removal from the fuel tank selector valve is difficult (piping is fragile).  A spare will be sent with the model.

This model is sized specifically for Airfix and is not likely to fit Trumpeter kits.

Whilst I would much rather CSM have tackled this specific subject, if Roden have upped their game with this new kit over some of their earlier releases, then I am sure it will be fine. That said, I wont offload my HC SPAD XIII kit just yet until we some plastic and initial assembly reports.

l have had conversations with CSM about other aircraft but they seem at the moment keeping to simple subjects due to tooling cost, With WnW out of the picture we're left with either this one or the Hobbycraft one ( on my list until l see the Roden kit) l also have the 1/28 Revell kit of the Spad but it an old boxing but no decals. Now aftermarket decals for that one in USAAS in Rickenbacker makings is really hard to find. Speaking of CSM has anyone seen their new kits coming?

  4. One of my major wants was the Hobbycraft 1/32 A-36 Apache. l got the P-51 and the 51A models but trying to get the A-36 was a long time coming. On the weekend l was checking my Ebay lists when the kit popped up at a reasonable price and with buy it now button. Of course yours truly jump right on it and it is now making its way to the stash which is in boxes right now for the big move to bigger digs. Maybe l can sneak it into one of the boxes before the wife sees it lol

I gave up on them 6 years ago. The company still owes me a set of the Bf-110 slats and Ta-152 wheels.

I've just placed an Ebay order with Mastercasters, let's see what happens - I've no reason to think it won't arrive

    Richard

MORE: according to Ebay, this order has been dispatched

Well l may not get that cockpit at this rate unless someone wants to part with one

  7. What could be a more realistic assessment one could think like a lot of companies they could just open another company under another name and sell the molds to themselves. It has happened before many time but whether it happens or not is problematic in nature

These days what you hear or read believe only 5% of it. Newspapers today sometime do not print the whole truth about any situations. They like to sensationalize a lot of things. WnW could simple figured that currently getting things in or out is a hassle plus they could be like everyone else working from home office wise that is. Unless there is an official statement from the company believe nothing. One question to answer why is where do they get their tooling and molding done? That could be the reason why they stopped operations for now

The beauty in the between-the-wars period is that there were not yet strict regulations concerning aeroplane construction. Technology was evolving from wood and cloth towards metal; biplane towards monoplane, etc. More often than not mixed materials were used: wood, metal, plastic/bakelite, leather, canvas... The modeller has many finishing options to choose from.

As for me, I chose to paint the upper-side of the cockpit in grey-green and the rest, including the skeleton frame in aluminium. I like the contrast and how it makes the cockpit looks busy.

Some l have seen the lower part was painted black on the top and green above the floor with aluminum framing

Who knows? After I’d taken that shot and looked at more photos I saw silver on the cockpit floor and lower sides so I changed it, but you pays your money and makes your choice I reckon. You can’t see diddly anyway once assembled!

l was going by other photos of other aircraft of the late 30s like the Hawker Fury etc they they seem to have a mix bag of green and aluminum
