FM-2 Conversion of Trumpeter F4f-4 kit.
Alburymodeler replied to LSP_Ray's topic in Works in Progress
A new Wildcat and Hellcat from Hasegawa would be wonderful. -
Avro Lincoln - the Lancaster is too small!

Transport joint, as in where the nose joins the cockpit and bomb door frame. The fairing/crease for the bomb aimers windows does not extend all the way to this point. -
Avro Lincoln - the Lancaster is too small!

I am not sure that the creases running back from the bomb aimers windows on the side, extend that far back. They seem to go about half way to the transport joint. But pretty awesome undertaking otherwise. -
For the export versions (Thailand, France, Greece, Italy) a clear non framed canopy is needed, and some sources claim the bomb bay was bigger (but I doubt this, maybe it is just something written on the internet).

Infinity Models - new German bomber? Do-17Z or Do-217 or He-177?
Alburymodeler replied to Jan_G's topic in LSP Discussion
The Do 17 does not do much for me, unless fighter variant. Do 217 is far more interesting. He 177 would be great but at what cost. -
If I was in absolute need of a 1/32 Invader, the engines of this kit would just be a detail considering all else that is wrong with it.

I think if we put those Nieuports into WNW boxes you would not be disappointed. It is almost like they come from the same source. I hope we are still getting the CSM Starstrutters if WNW do go belly up.

Infinity Models de Havilland DH.100 Vampire - first test shots
Alburymodeler replied to Jan_G's topic in LSP Discussion
A few coats of paint to fill the rivets will make it look a lot nicer. But I will get a few for sure. -
Nice looking model. But I think in real life we now need to go to insect populating sprayers. There are almost no insects around here anymore, and the birds are suffering, and up the food chain.

1:32 Douglas A-26 Invader from Trumpeter/Hobbyboss?
Alburymodeler replied to Iain's topic in LSP Discussion
One intake on top, one on bottom. Covering all bases just in case. But I don't like it and will give it a miss. -
They show now, kit looks WNW/Tamiya quality.
-
But nothing shows for me.

Only one?

Tamiya P-51D discussion of extra parts and block differences

The wings....? -
It sure looks good, I will have to get a few. Also to replace my Silver Wings kit.
-
There are plenty of big changes between the P-51A and P-51B, moreso than between the B and D. . The fuselage in the cockpit area is lower on the earlier machine, so all the rear fuselage is different, and the radiator housing is also unique. Not an easy conversion by any means.
-
Pity we don't have a whole wing of those here at the moment. Our country is aflame, burning from one end to the other. Came close to my old house in Corryong in the high country, and just over the hill from my brother 300km away as the bird flies. Estimates are 500 million native animals dead. Poor fellow my country. It sort of makes me not care too much for the shape of the HB Invader.

I am hoping CSM continues with 1/32 for sure.

Nieuport XXI & Nieuport XXIII from Copper State Models
Alburymodeler replied to kkarlsen's topic in LSP Discussion
I want me some of that Lewis fun. -
That could be the next group build, models started but put on hold due to proposed release of IM model.

Nieuport XXI & Nieuport XXIII from Copper State Models
Alburymodeler replied to kkarlsen's topic in LSP Discussion
Both nice, but I am hoping for the Starstrutter before these two. -
More than eight years now. Riga Mortis may have set in.

This is certainly something out there, probably tons of good info, but PR drawings and the like should never be the basis of any model larger than 1/144.
