Oh yes! That's just lovely! Very much like that scheme and an expert job on the foiling! I suddenly feel the need for a P-40!

Peter: Great work on the experiments! I'm having trouble holding my breath for the next installment!

Sure! There is some amazing talent out there, and some amazing models get shown at Telford (and the US Nats of course). Most of the time though, I look at the photos, and as amazing as the builds are, I know they are models.

What you're showing us here Peter, is something that is hard to distinguish from the real thing. As some here know, I've spent time working around real Spitfires, and I've had to double take most of your work. It's that close to the real thing.....period. If this beauty of a build doesn't walk away with best of show, then the judges know stuff all about the real subject matter.

Super smooth painting skills! That red cheatline came out beautifully and makes the airframe come alive! All that silver and red reminds me of my old TD248!

    Next project in 1/18th? Prop....NMF?

    Why can I visualise Kidd Hofer's P-51B??

Awesome work as ever! Count me in as a confirmed fan boy!

No Idea! But they didn't design many ugly aircraft. I have a big soft spot for the MC 200....one of my favourite WW2 aircraft. Don't know why, but it just looks right. CR-42 is right up there too, but this RS-14 is a real looker!

Awesome build of a beautiful subject Alex. You make it look so easy. I'm tuned in and settled for the long haul

Got to hand it to the Italians. They designed some lovely looking aeroplanes.

That's good news Alan! A good, accurate and affordable P-51D would earn Revell a lot of money. Fingers firmly crossed!

I'm actually going to have to use an online thesaurus to find some new words to describe your build! She's looking amazing, and your methodical, plan and test several times before commiting paid off again!

It is refreshing to know though, that you are as cack scared of painting as I am! I love the scratch building, and fettling and general assembly, but I hate painting! I have no self confidence in that department. That's why I get hardly anything finished!

I've always been led to believe that the Matchbox Emil, shapewise at least, was very accurate. Of course, there's always the usual Matchbox hallmarks to contend with like chunky detail and heavy panel lines, but the shape is good. A lot better than the Hasegawa Emil.

You are a true craftsman. Your attention to detail is amazing and your build looks more like a restoration. I can almost believe that your Dora will be capable of flight!

Well, I thought the Revell 109G was the Bee's Knees when I picked one up aged 12. Got one in the stash to build, but purely as an exercise in nostalgia.

There is also an article in a modelling book which throw's everthing and the kitchen sink at the kit, and the end product is impressive, but probably not worth the effort considering there are better 109Gs out there. Can't remember the title. I'll post it up, but it could be Brian's build.

Personally, I would build it out of the box for a bit of nostalgic fun!
