  1. Excellent progress Russ! I am enjoying watching the play-by-play on this one. Who knows- I may even give this sort of thing a try down the road. Keep those WIP pics coming!
  2. Welcome Azgaron! Glad you are going to build here with us. I have been following along with your Spitfire, she looks better each day. Can't wait to see you tackle the Bug.
  3. Excellent work Chris! Can't wait to see her dressed up with some paint.
  4. Drop dead gorgeous bird! Not sure what else to say but "WOW!". I have one of these with a tiny bit of work done to it, and was wondering your impressions of the cowl/fuse/wing joint. I have heard of others having difficulty with this area, how was it for you? Again, well done- she's a beauty.
  5. Very nicely done Gregory! Glad to see they are visible at a museum, so others can enjoy them up close. Thanks for sharing!
  6. No worries Kevin! It'll take a lot more than that to upset me.
  7. Thanks Dave. I've browsed around that site a few times in the past, love looking at those relic photos. Great resource for correct colors! Manny- OMG! That is some BEUUUUUTIFUL work! Thanks for the link, I'll be going back to your build many times during mine. Hope to see more of yours soon! Kevin- LOL, actually my name is Frank, not Fred.
  8. Rocky- I took a look around J-aircraft, but couldn't find any build notes about the Tamiya Zero. DO you recall which section it was in? TIA!
  9. A scratchbuilt Russian helicopter? OUTSTANDING! Looking forward to also learning some new techniques from you.
  10. Very nice! I'm not familiar with the Hasegawa kit, but am excited to see what you do with it. Rocky- Thanks for the tip on J-aircraft, I'm gonna check that out.
  11. Nice to see a Wildcat here! I want to get one of those someday, after seeing yours that day may be close at hand.
  12. I agree, another Zero is a good thing! Looking forward to seeing yours.
  13. Glad to see another Zero here at the GB! Excellent work thus far, can't wait to see more.
  14. Absolutely stunning build! That thing is a monster. Thanks for the pics, awesome work!
  15. Now this is gonna be cool! I am really looking forward to seeing this one come together.
  16. This will be a very interesting entry! Looking forward to seeing your photos and learning some new techniques.
  17. This is a kit I'd like to get my hands on someday. Can't wait to see what you do with her!
  18. Love the Dauntless, and am very excited to see your build!
  19. Thanks fellas! I am really looking forward to sinking my teeth into this one, looks (and sounds) like an amazing kit.
  20. I agree, looks like you are going to have your hands full with this one. I am really looking forward to seeing this one as she comes along, those are very interesting looking aircraft.
  21. I am entering this GB with a 1/32 Tamiya A6M5 Zero. This will be my first LSP after building 1/48 for years. I plan to build this one mostly OOB, with some extra bits added on the engine and cockpit with wire and styrene. This kit was given to me a few years ago from a friend who knew how badly I wanted one, and I am VERY excited to finally build it.
  22. OMG!!! I thought it was the Tamiya kit too. Double bonus points for you for building that kit. Well done, and thanks for the info!
  23. Excellent work here! In the photos of the gear bay, some parts are light gray and some are white. Did you combine some parts from the Block 50 as well as the Thunderbird kit? I know that to build some blocks parts are needed from both kits. Keep up the good work, I'll be keeping an eye on this build.
  24. Absolutely beautiful work! I do have a couple of questions for you... What did you use for the overall color? I really like the look. Also, what did you use for a wash? It looks subtle yet very effective. Thanks for sharing, outstanding build!
