Barry got a reaction from Marcel111 in Trumpeter 1/32 F-8E Build
A couple of shots showing the fit on the intake after adding shims between the upper and lower halves. The fit to the lower area on the radome bulkhead and the lower intake lip is much better and will make filling much cleaned with less sanding I hope.

The next photos show the hook stowed in the well.

The next group on photos show the nearly completed well temporarily assembled.

The reason I had to lengthen was the hook in designed to fit the smaller kit hook well.

Here a couple of shots on the arresting hook.
I did quite a bit of work to it, reshaping, lengthening and adding detail.
I still have to add flange and a couple of other small details.

The nearly finished look. Seam between flanges will go away when glued into place.

I think the scoop looks much better with the flanges than without.
It looks like it is mounted to the fuselage rather than just stuck on.

Scoop with flange on both fuselage and scoop.

I also noted a small set back in the lower portion of the scoop in relation to the inlet.

Man are those rivets deep or what. We only allow -.002 to +.003 on flush rivets on our "real" aircraft! I might have to have these written up and reworked.
After getting the flange on the fuselage I placed the scoop into place and used .010 x .010 strips to fashion the flange onto the scoop itself. It was a little never racking not gluing the strip to the fuselage only the scoop.
Before this I took time to clean up the scoops and deepen the inlet to approximately .150. Makes a huge difference in how they look.

Right side vents, I still need to add removed louver.

I still think he sits a little too tall, what do you guys think?

Back to the F-8 at least for a couple of days.
I received the Aires Cockpit and man is it another super nice set, very much like the A-7 I am using in that build.
As I intend to build an In-Flight Display and was not going to spring for a detailed cockpit that would be largely hidden I couldn't help myself.
So using the Aires Cockpit and AMS Resins Mk 5 Seat and Master Details Pilot here we go.
The pilot is Master Details USAF Vietnam era figue and it is super nice.
I have conversed with Stephen at Master Details and he has a USN/USMC Vietnam era Pilot in works for "late summer".
So I am using this figure for fitting and intend to use the USN figure when it become available.

Barry got a reaction from BiggTim in Huffer hoses in 1/32nd scale?
Hi Bill,
Here is the air start hose on the -60
The "Coil" is a black and the hose itself is a silver gray. The coil is wrapped around the exterior of the hose bonded to it.
