  1. Thanks Richard, I've been away the last week and haven't logged on. I just saw this now If you do have a set I'll definately take it at what ever you want for it. I'd even take the Golden Hawks as a second option. Please advise thanks
  2. Really looking good. Although the Hase kit is realitively simple it's still my current favorite kit. I've build two and have two more waiting for a rainy day Nice work
  3. How is the progress coming Chris? My kit showed up in the mail from Spru Bro's today. I can't wait to start it but have to finish the Tony first Ron
  4. Decals are on and I really like!! For historically not being a Japanese airforce fan up to now, man I've missed out on some great subjects the last 35 years
  5. Thanks guys, This is a pretty simple kit to hammer out quickly. The fit is super and most of it is one color I actually didn't use Alclad. All I could find in that line of paint was Durillium (spelling?) and it was to dark, almost like steel. I used MM non-buffing metal coat alumn. I didn't do a base coat of black nor did I prime. I masked out the color areas and spraying Floquil white then yellow then black then masked those areas out and sprayed silver. I was allot of masking and took all evening to finish but it worked out pretty well Ron
  6. Thanks all, when I get the hobby room done I'll likely keep displaying them this way. they won't fall off and it keeps the dust off them. The paint is on! now it's time for some decals
  7. I found several really nice decal sets on that Canmilair site but $42.00 for each set in 1/32 scale all I can say is OUCH!!! and forget that!! That's $2.00 more than I paid for the kit. I'd pay $20-$25 for it but $42.00 for a simple decal set is a little rich... I hope I can find a Leading Edge set. All the 1/32 Sabre ones are out of production now
  8. Well my break from building only lasted about a week I started this early last week. I have the cockpit done and the fuse together. I dropped the flaps because Hase gives all the detail to do so but does not mention how to do it in the instructions? This is only the forth Japanese airplane I have ever built. I have never been a big fan but now I am finding they are great subjects to build and weather! Here is the whole 1/32 collection minus my F-16, F-15, F-4 and Sea Fury. this winter I will finish off the hobby room and make a proper display wall.
  9. I am no expert but by comparing the Tamiya kits the -5 has a slightly bigger prop, different spinner shape, exhaust manifolds that protrude from multiple points around the cowl gills, different cannons and slightly different engine. This is from memory so I'll throw in that I hope I got it right, if not those who know please correct me
  10. Are there any good AM decal sets for RCAF Sabre's out there? I have the Kinetic kit coming from Sprue Bro's and want to do something other than a USAF version
  11. What it's not done yet? I've been away all week and haven't checked in Where did the placards come from in the cockpit? I like them I ordered this kit last week and have an old out of print P-40E decal set for RAAF plane in desert scheme that I plan on using on it Looks good Chris
  12. Looks great! what resin conversion kits are they? I assume the donor kit wase a Hasegawa Mk V???
  13. The pit looks great! really nice
  14. Are there pictures on this thread? Cause I am not getting them?
  15. Keep it up with the airbrush, clearly you are catching on fast! I get the impression you don't like Spitfires?
  16. A few more (and noticed I have to put some flat spots on those tires!! )
  17. Thanks, The seat is PE from Edward and the only reason I got the Edward set. The seat is the only downfall with this kit. The provided one looks like a Spitfire seat and has cushions molded into the back and seat.
  18. Looks great! really great. How did you do the paint? Ron
