  1. Hmmm....in the above photo of an actual fabric control surface.....no sag between the ribs! Go figure..... Mark Proulx
  2. My pet peeve.... Few, if any companies seem able to accurately replicate fabric control surfaces. This is just one more example. Mark Proulx
  3. Hmmmm......a very interesting build and certainly out of the ordinary for an F-14 project! Mark Proulx
  4. Well, if you do a Pro range, I suggest you include ACCURATE control surfaces. That means, no sag to the fabric. Mark Proulx
  5. For the life of me I can't understand why manufacturers are unable to provide ACCURATE control surfaces! Go to a museum for crying out loud and look at the real thing. Rant over. Mark Proulx
  6. I'd like to see their F-5 series... Mark Proulx
  7. To anyone interested in the new Macchi 202, a good write up on the kits "issues" posted on Hyperscale: A Modeller's Guide to Italeri's 1/32 scale Macchi C.202 by Maurizio Di Terlizzi (hyperscale.com) HTH Mark Proulx
  8. Thanks! However, the brass gear for the 24th scale Airfix Typhoon so weight might be an issue! Mark Proulx
  9. Looking forward to the inevitable discussion abut the colors of Malta Spitfires! Mark Proulx
  10. Beurlings aircraft lacked a padded headrest as photos indicate. That small detail incorporated into the profile. Nice! Mark Proulx
  11. What bonding medium is best for: 1) Brass to brass 2) Brass to plastic Thanks in advance for any input. Mark Proulx
  12. New brass landing gear for the Typhoon arrived today! It looks very good and well worth adding to my Typhoon aftermarket goodies! Thanks! Mark Proulx
  13. The cockpit sill isnt perfectly square. It tapers to the rear slightly. Consequently, to be able to roll back the canopy has to pinch together along the base. An open canopy is narrower than a closed canopy. A piano hinge on top of the canopy allows for that "squeeze". Try placing a canopy in the open position on a Hasegawa kit and you will see the canopy is actually wider than the fuselage, which is incorrect. HTH Mark Proulx
  14. I wonder if one of the canopy options is "sqeezed" so that it can correctly be posed in the open position. A hinge along the top of the canopy allows for this as the cockpit opening has a taper to it. Mark Proulx
  15. What is the best medium to use to attach brass to brass (excluding solder) and brass to plastic? I would think cyano or epoxy? Mark Proulx
  16. Notification posted through your website. Thanks! Mark Proulx
  17. I see the 1/24th scale Hawker Typhoon landing gear is out of stock. Is it going to be cast again any time soon? Mark Proulx
  18. Interesting. I have never read/heard complaints about the Typhoon landing gear... Mark Proulx
  19. Hello... Been watching utube video builds as of late on the Airfix 24th scale Mosquito. One constant comment is the fragility of the Mosquito landing gear, which they say, is prone to breaking. Now, I have asked this question on LSP and that hasn't been the experience here. In fact, I have been told the Mosquito landing gear has stood up very well over time. However, while knocking the Mosquito landing gear, it is also suggested that the Airfix 24th scale Typhoon suffers from weak landing gear and needs reinforcement. I am curious if this is something also witnessed by modelers here who have worked on the Typhoon. Is the kit landing gear strong enough to support the finished kit? Mark Proulx
  20. A Google search also brings up a number of images. Mark Proulx
  21. U can try here for a few pics: 41-11613 | American Air Museum Mark Proulx
  22. Eli: Be careful as there were MANY variations of national insignias applied to the Tidal Wave Liberators. If accuracy a concern, I would be looking for photos of the entire aircraft for confirmation. According to USAAF Aircraft Markings and Camouflage 1941-1947 the colors are Sand No. 49 and Neutral Grey. But, as you correctly point out the Sand prone to fading. A color chip provided in the book. HTH Mark Proulx
  23. Some B-24 (3 groups of the 5 total) were attached to the raid from the Eighth Air Force (UK based) and not painted prior to the attack. Mark Proulx
