I made my pre-order yesterday .Regarding the weight of the kit , I hope that the nose gear leg, will be strong enough to support it..well .... let's trust to the Jetmad team to solve the problem

There was a hot "landing gear under weight" discussion when the Viggen was announced I remember and I was curious as well. Jetmads had assured it was alright. Looking at my Viggen I can say it is absolutely alright indeed, stands so firm it looks like it can carry two other Viggens on top of it. I don't expect that to be a problem.

It may also be possible that BNA is one of their retailers. And this is what retailers do: sell at double prices.

I'm glad Jetmads sells to modelers directly and we do not have to deal with this.

The price may be double but that does not suggest they double their investment. Kit plus shipment during the preorders was $344, meaning it seems they have a profit margin of 30%, which sounds reasonable.

  3. Good to have something fresh from Trumpy in our scale after a while, especially when it is a jet. Navy guys will like it I'm sure, whereas I'd be happier with some other USAF stuff like the century series. But then again it's a good thing to see large scale is not totally neglected, if the Viking kit really comes to fruition and no doubt with the option to fold the wings.

  4. All my efforts to contact have been futile.

A manufacturer having issues is one thing and we are all grown up people with certain life experience who acknowledge things sometimes can go wrong. But the way I would like to identify not responding to anyone for so long will not suit the kind atmosphere of this forum so I'll keep it silent.

It just made me swear that I will never pay a dime again to any individual kitmaker (?) and be very selective about who produces what.

  5. Hasegawa offering is a good one but it does not come with underwing external tanks. Which is a serious absence for me as these are indispensible to the looks of the Starfighter, imo.

Italeri kit is a newer one and has many positive sides but I find the rivets overly expressed. Also the rivets on the stabilizer surfaces are totally unrealistic and unnecessarrily overdone.

  6. My package arrived in the customs yesterday, I expect it to be delivered sometime next week.

The kit spurred a big excitement when the first edition was released a few years ago. Now it is no fresh news. Like when Apollo 11 landed on the moon that was great news but no one gave a damn about Apollo 16 :D

I'll post it here when mine arrives if no one else does until then.

when someone called them out on that on their FB page they promptly got blocked

    I wouldn’t pay $3 for that let alone $300

how these guys are suckering people to buy their stuff is beyond me

And this one especially, now that you have found my comment on the previous page about metallic finish page to be funny!

You have to "order" it as usual and then You´ll get an order confirmation by mail.

I doubt you can place and order now. I bought all of their kits so I think I know. This is the reservations announcement they have made, you would need to let them know with an email and they confirm your reservation. Then some time later the preorders begin and you can place an order when you will have to pay for the shipping too.
