  1. Interesting discussion back and forth on the (new) 3D printing and lines it shows. .... Fact is (most likely) that the subjects that Jetmads has brought thus far to the market and the ones choses will not be done by the regular modelling companies like Tamiya, Hasegawa, Trumpeter, Hobby Boss and so on...unless the molds/designs are sold by Jetmads to actually convert them to conventional model kits. As I mentioned, we (the Streak in 1.32 team, as we dubbed ourselves) tried to support Kittyhawk to get to a point to actually take the kits (Streak and Flash) on board, but things went the other way..they did the F-86 and Mirage 2000, but that was it. So, for those who like to see the Streak soon this is a great opportunity. The Neptune and Saab Draken are coming up which also special Aircraft that may never be seen in 1.48 (Neptune) or 1.32 (Draken). The 3D tech just now shows different options. Great times for the hobby I would say. And the Streak / Flash fit nicely in the profile range I wrote on Dutch military aviation... happy modelling!!!
  2. same here and all the whiners on print lines...I salute you. Kisses.
  3. Resin is not for everyone now, but I gained experience with Paul fisher's kits which were amazing (elbow grease required though). The Saab Viggen I ordered to see what it is like and it is very impressive. Some of the builds are stellar. But the material is different and takes getting used to. That said, the Streak (and the Thunderflash) are indeed important post-WW2 aircraft that now get the love they deserve. Pricey but unique. I do not think my files will be converted by Zimi into a proper design. Perhaps Jetmads could venture into the field of polystyrene at some point, but HpH's efforts were short lived too... It will be a special moment to have that kit in hands. I wrote the Dutch Profile with Luuk Boerman of Dutch Profile/Dutch Decals in 2014 and started compiling the dossier with the team. Jetmads have received our support as well. And the business model seems more manageable (sign up and commit, limited edition).
  4. https://www.themodellingnews.com/2014/04/guess-who-is-about-to-launch-new-f-84f.html LONGGGG ago.
  5. Something for Reskit to pick up? They are doing the A-7 Corsair II now as well....Decals were by Zotz. Great work but now hard to find.
  6. ten years ago, Harold, Bruce, Glen, Luuk, Ole and myself started compiling materials for a Streak in 32. That was supposed to be used by Kittyhawk but led us nowhere. It is good to see, Jetmads is picking this up. With the Thunderflash, the Streak is arguably one of the most important post-war jets (with the Thunderjet and Shooting Star) in Europe and the US. Looking forward seeing this one!
  7. nine years...the Devastator took long...but is here, same for the F-100F and upcoming S-3B Viking so who knows. But a conversion set from ResKit or Kopecky scale models would probably be quicker...
  8. Paul Fisher did the great conversion kits for the HKM Meteors to build an F8 or T7...Other than that there is not much out there (yet). Perhaps Revell will do the series?
  9. Reasons are quite legit, part of the team for the Draken had to jump in on the Neptune design team. Looking forward to that one as well!!
  10. The F-16 series is in need of a revamp and an extension to the A(M), B(M), E/F range... However, the Thunderbird version is a sought after version as it has the basic building blocks to turn it into an A/B model. We'll see. There is a lot of aftermarket now to convert, but that makes it a expensive project. Also, Tamiya has not done a dual at all (yet).
  11. I think you're right. And it is a shame if correct. The Magister was an extremely important postwar trainer that was used by many Air Forces (incl. the Dutch that trained with the Belgium pilots in a Magister - T-33 tandem coop agreement). Also, think of how nice a Magister looks in the colours of the Patrouille de France!!. Let's hope Danny (Daco) does follow through and I am sure 150GBP would still be acceptable to most as it is slightly over engineered and therefore pretty cool looking (engines etc). T
  12. Do not forget that they could also entertain doing the Two-seater which is perhaps even more aesthetically pleasing to the eye!
  13. I believe so yes, you can order it here: http://shop.hphmodels.cz/en/model-kits-in-scale-148/88-xb-70-valkyrie-v-meritku-148.html
  14. how about the 1/48 kit...by HpH models?
  15. Amazing! Good times. Reservation placed of course. My Neptunes first though
  16. B-47 in 1/32?? OMG that is huge. The price too. and the Beaufighter needs more love... While we're at it: a Do-24 would be nice, both the Dutch and German versions (different engines). 1/48, 1/32?
  17. unique kits...mainstream companies won't take them on. (yes, as a Dutchman (living in the UK) I had to order the Neptune (2 kits, one for me and one for my dad; saw the Cosford one recently)
  18. and while on this topic, the PV-1 Ventura is of course awesome, but the PV-2 Harpoon is another idea as it flew with quite a few post-War nations in Europe (France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, UK, Japan etc)...
  19. Kage, could you also check with Jiri if they intend to do the Beaufighter now in 1/32?
  20. Great work Meindert. Your page has been of help several times to me. Best Tim
  21. I suppose you're right. It is great they give it a go and bring a more exotic plane to the modellers. But resin...hmmm, yikes, dusty business
