I continued with metal parts, here is the engine, its very detailed out of the box, I just added spark plug wiring later, it doesn't appear in this picture.

for the metal parts I primed them with black base from AK Xtreme Metal colors. Later I airbrushed AK Xtreme Metal Aluminium and then used chipping fluid technique on the colors. I don't want to varnish this parts so the metal chips keep their shine in contrast with paint roughness

    Welcome to LSP!
    Love it so far!
Yes, as Kev mentioned your English is far superior to my Spanish.

Indeed, a very nice kit that has very few nigles, save the warped wings and delicate usually broken when you get the kit middle wing cockpit surround.

I completed mine a few years back as Vosses machine and had a fun time building it for sure.
I really liked the kit. I did however make my own masks for the cowl face.

    Looking forward to seeing more!

Wrapping up with the kit contents, the majority of the clear parts are held on Eduard's signature circular sprue.  Even though this circular sprue was held in its own bag, both the windscreen and the bubble canopy were detached and floating in the bag.

Thankfully, there does not appear to be any damage to the canopy parts.

The supplied photoetch includes pre-painted parts for the cockpit and some unpainted detail parts as well.

Markings for six aircraft are supplied on this huge decal sheet.  Biggest I've encountered and wouldn't fit on my desktop scanner. These are the newer style decals from Eduard that feature a removable clear carrier, similar to the wet transfer decals from HGW and 1ManArmy.

I am planning to do a natural metal bird from Royal Indian Air Force circa 1947.

Construction will start in the cockpit and my attention is drawn to the three ways Eduard provides for the instrument panel. The first version has molded detail on the instrument faces that are meant to be painted.  The second version provides partially flat faces for the panels that are meant to be used with the kit-supplied decals for the instrument faces.  The third version uses the pre-painted phototetch parts.

Since the molded detail version lacks the raised instrument dials, I thought I would morph the three version into two alternatives.  1: Using the decals on the molded detail parts and 2: removing all of the raised details on the 2nd version and applying the photo-etch parts onto that. Same purplish grey that Eduard seems to use on ALL of its instrument panels.

I'll have to double check to see if the decals actually line up with the molded details as I notice some differences between all three instrument panel version. But I've prepped Version 2 by removing all of the raised details.

Another model flew into the workshop, one of those that are lingering in the cupboard and I still have a lot of it and my wife is whining about how much of it (good stuff) I still have and when I'm going to do it. So I'm getting on with the build, but one that's straight out of the box and how I'm going to make it. Introducing the Curtiss A-8 ‘SHRIKE’ in 1:48 from Czech Model, for me it's a bit of an exotic theme and there will be such themes between Italian and Polish themes. And this is how the box and its contents look like, and there is only one painting and two markings of the machine 80 and 83.

Hello all, this is something i've been working for a while....the Tamiya F-16

There isn't much to say about this kit that most haven't already said as its quite an old-ish kit now and been covered a lot, but I'll add to its plaudits. Nice detail and fitting isn't an issue anywhere on the kit.

I added some extra detail into the undercarriage bays using various thicknesses of solder wire, Red Fox Studio's cockpit set, mine own mask sets (DM Scale Models) for the insignia and tail codes plus my 'inspection hatches, stencil masks and canopy' set.

Paints used were all by Gunze, C305 and C306 were the basic colours and various parts were base colours plus white for variation.

Some more done and needed to fit the cowl rings to the engine nacelles but to do that I needed a basic prop/ backplate/ fan assembly so I could glue the cowl ring in place and be able to remove and re-fit without fouling the cowl ring.

And both completed and fitted in place

Time next to look at the aileron extensions as definitely some serious work seeded

The R/H has already been started on but as you can see from the L/H part much careful sanding and reshaping is needed.

So it's been a while but suddenly decided the 188 needed working on again. I decided to ease myself in gently and work on the engines. I'm not using the AIMS supplied resin parts but instead a couple of Revell Fw-190 engines instead as these although not 100% accurate allow a lot more surface detail when painted

and propellers will be from Eduard

The Eduard prop set is so good, I've used one before on my F-8 build and is super nice to work with.

I've several issues to deal with on the wings but felt getting the engines completed was a good starting point.

    Quick little update (again)

Managed to find a tad more time to tighten up the demarcations. Also, I had to remask and spray the Braunviollet along the wing roots again, which is tedious to say the least.

Lastly, I decided to make the fuselage green colors a bit more bright, as that is what the Eagle Cals profile suggests…..also, I like how it looks. I mixed some Vallejo RLM25 light green with RLM 83 dark green to get a middle ground green. This will also be used for the mottling as well on the fuselage and tail.

    Cheers!

Not much going on as of late. Finally found some time to spray some Graublau on the sides and tail. Needs some touch ups, as I was getting some tip dry on the airbrush which resulted in some splatters. Hopefully can get some more work done next week between work and life haha.

Thank you all for your messages.
Today I took care of the two "60s".
If you look at the photos, you can see a thin border around the 6 and the 0 :

I decided, in agreement with myself, that this border was red like the star's border.
With this in mind, I placed the masks and painted them white, placed the internal masks and painted them red:

Unfortunately, the "60" on the right-hand side was completely wrong: the "60" was leaning backwards and the "60" was squinting between the white and red parts: I had no choice but to redo it entirely (You can see it clearly in the photo above.).
    The right "60" completely redone:

    Hi,

Actually the history about Tamiya and the 1/35 scale is a little bit more complex. The Panther A tank most people are refering to is NOT the initial 1/35 Tamiya Panther tank. The original was actually made in 1961 whereas the well-known Panther A model was only made in 1968. Both were very different.
You can see them on scalemates: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-1-german-tank-panther--347436 and https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tamiya-mt223-panzerkampfwagen-v-panther--347433
If you think the 1968 one vaguely looked like a Panther, I can tell you the 1961 kit was FAR worse! Simply look at that after a deep breath! Note the "Tiger II" decal probably explains they did not really know what was an actual Panther tank... Not really surprising because the Tamiya models of the sixties were only made from... some pictures! They only started measuring full scale vehicles from the seventies.

Moreover, Tamiya 1/35 standardization only arrived at the end of the sixties decade. It even looks they did not create the first 1/35 model but this is not surprising because at that time there were models in close to every scale! During the sixties they also released AFVs in other weird scales such as 1/21, 1/50 or 1/55! It is true they were the first to decide to standardize progressively AFVs models in 1/35 and for whatever reason this was based on approximate measurements of that inital Panther dog. Useless to say that the initial so-called 1/35 Panther tank kit had not the same hull dimensions than the 1968 one that was still inaccurate! The first relatively correct 1/35 Panther tank with regard to hull and turret main dimensions was released by Nichimo in 1974 and... it was also motorized! So the batteries size were not the only reason for the dimension inaccuracies of such sixties models. There were other examples of successive generations of Tamiya 1/35 models of the same AFV that had clearly different dimensions. I think this was just a product of the time as models were intended for children and accuracy was not really a major criterion... This hopefully evolved but that scale stayed. Too bad as this is why we are now struggling between two scales!

I know it may not matter to many of you, but I lost a good old friend this past weekend, at the age of 100. He was a veteran of the USAAC in WW2, served with the 474th FG, 428th FS, as an assistant crew chief working on P-38 Lightings. He was fantastic human being, and a good friend, and I will miss him. Archie Lee Stuck. He is the reason I love P-38s so much.

Yes, the Halifax largely overlooked. FWIU, statistically crew survival rate was higher in the Halifax than the Lancaster due to the robust nature of its fuselage. A 48th or New Tool 72nd offering is needed. I'm sorry, but 32nd to large for me.
