Hannants have just added both the C2 and the C7 sets from Aztec in their Future Releases section. Looks like they will have some to sell if you missed out on buying directly from Aztec. /Niels

Takom Apache Aftermarket Detail Parts - The Future is Here
Zola25 replied to John1's topic in LSP Discussion
Agreed - But I also see a future where many modellers will simply aquire a 3D printer and buy the print files from designers who have made the big effort to model the parts. I am already considering it to be honest /Niels -
That was my reason for asking - it is not announced anywhere but it is listed on scalemates and I can see that it exists.. /Niels

Hi Does anyone know where and how to order the Pontos detailing Set for the 1/200 Yamato kit (Glow2b etc..)? Also - is it any good and worth the money? Thanks Niels

SR-71 Su-34 Sea King He-177 Greif RF-84 Thunderflash Normally the Saab Draken would be on top but since that is on its way I will leave it out /Niels

That is seriously well done - wow /Niels -
Der Sockelshop in Germany are having a big 15 year anniversary sale at the moment. General discounts and some selected super deals.. I just picked up a 1/200 Yamato for only 300 EUR - Thats a crazy discount of almost 40% off retail.. www.dersockelshop.de /Niels

Trumpeter´s version came up for pre-order at the same time in several shops I can see Are they not essentially the same kits from the same "designs" or molds? I find it curious that suddenly we see several manufacturers release the same 1/16 StuG kit..and then the 1/16 Sherman and now the 1/16 Sdkfz 251.. I doubt they all had the same idea at the same time by coincidence But super great to see a Sdkfz 251 in 1/16. I will surely get one and put some Jeff Shiu figures in there. /Niels

I must also be lucky then - mine are also underway. I just forgot to order the External Tanks as well I asked 2-3 weeks back when they expected to ship, and they informed me that they were making sets as quickly as possible but were a little overwhelmed by the demand /Niels

That looks like it could be a fun kit / diorama combo - pretty big /Niels

Border Models Lancaster - it will be my last LSP build
Zola25 replied to Stokey Pete's topic in Works in Progress
I know what you mean - you feel an obligation to build and paint all these beautiful details. I went through the same process while doing the forward section. I was pretty sure I would use the Quinta set but after looking at all that wonderful plastic I knew I had to paint it myself. I am really glad I did now. However, I have decided to only build and paint the inboard engines. Once completed my Lanc´ is going to spend much of its life with the outboard wing-sections removed so it makes sense for me. /Niels -

Awesome progress Pete - those engines look sweet. Brave man to build all 4 /Niels -
What would stand a chance of selling as good as the Spitfire then...? With Airfix being a somewhat anglophile company (for obvious reasons) they certainly have a tendency to favour RAF planes. My money is still on a P-51 - It can easily be boxed with some RAF markings, The Merlin engine can be re-used from the Spitfire kit and it is (almost) as iconic as the Spitfire = almost guaranteed sales. I don´t see the Hurricane doing as well as a P-51 and the Trumpeter Hurricanes are actually quite good I have a feeling they burned their fingers on the F6F - I cannot substantiate that with any sales statistics so I am only judging by the people I know who didnt buy it - and are known to buy almost anything I think it will be a while (if ever) before we will see something like a Corsair (unfortunately). It could be a German aircraft but then I would think they would go for something that has not been done before, maybe an Fw190A - but Trumpy is releasing that I seem to remember. Niels

Have a feeling its going to be a P-51D - not that I would complain /Niels

Mine just arrived today.. no shipping confirmation, no tracking, no nothing.. well.. just had a quick look in the box ( which is surprisingly small ) and it looks like a really nice kit. The surface detail is certainly crisp and detailed. Let's see how it builds.. Niels

Really nice - I like it a lot. Looks really cool with the "Captain America shield" on the radar dome /Niels

I am currently building the Border Model Lancaster and if I ever thought that it was expensive - my mind is simply blown in every single modelling session by the level of detail in this kit. Best kit I have ever seen! It is well worth the price tag in my opinion and even though I have no idea how I am going to display the one I am building I will very seriously consider buying this Dambusters version as well. - maybe I will just have to get a bigger house /Niels PS - I am not sure that Border Model ever said it would be a limited run. I believe they said that the first batch would be very limited so if you wanted one from the start you would have to pre-order. Which for once turned out to be a good idea since the pre-order kits were "much" cheaper than they are now.
