  1. Does anyone know how or when some cunning Australian zapped the camouflaged one? I'm aware of OV-10's being zapped constantly by RAAF exchange aircrew but a Cobra is new to me
  2. Hello Matt, got a list of Vallejo colours from this build on YouTube: Not my work, although I would shamelessly claim it if it was. Anyway, the colours are as follows: Base colour 70.821 German Camouflage Beige Highlight 70.847 Dark Sand First green 70.922 Uniform First brown 70.347 Splinter No 2 Second brown 70.825 German Camouflage Pale Brown Second green 70.336 Afrikakorps Tank Crew Light dots/spots 70.342 Highlights Flesh Dark dots/spots 70.822 German Camouflage Black Brown
  3. Let me add to the wishes for a rapid and easy recovery- I hope both you and your wife recover quickly
  4. There are some good photos in "263 and 137 Squadrons The Whirlwind Years" by Robert Bowater, plus lots of interesting information. I am part way through building a non fighter bomber version, but it looks like most of what is required is in the box
  5. Hello all, does anyone have a copy of the full up instructions that came with the Werner Wings MH-47E conversion? A gentlemen was looking for them over of Hyperscale, I volunteered to scan and send him a copy of mine, only to discover that I can't find mine either. Apparently he has already made enquiries via Werner's Wings without success, so I am hoping someone here may be able to help both him and myself out. I cannot believe I have managed to misplace them.... Thanks in advance Bill Watt
  6. I am definitely looking forward to it. I wonder what the Typhoon that appears at 2:35 was doing? Guessing the film was shot in late 1943 while 263 Squadron was transitioning to the Typhoon. Be interesting to know for sure
  7. Hello all, looking at starting down the 3d printing rabbit hole, and am wondering what CAD program to go with. I have precisely zero experience with CAD software, but having said that I am fairly computer literate (I spend a reasonable amount of time designing and editing video for training packages and incident reviews at work), and am willing to spend time to learn to drive stuff properly. I am not a fan of gimmicks but do like features that make stuff easier to do without needing the full understanding of first principles. I am also a buy once, cry once kind of guy- I would rather be the limiting factor, as opposed to my equipment, and don't want to waste time learning to drive one package only to have to learn another in 12-18 months because I have hit the limits of the program. I am leaning towards Fusion 360 at the moment- I have a long term plan with regards to getting hold of a Pocket NC 5-axis mill to facilitate my other expensive hobby and the ability to create tool paths seems to be a nice bonus. Obviously cost is always an issue, but I don't mind spending for good gear. Given that, what are people's opinions in regards to the best CAD software. I have read a number of reviews but I would rather hear from people who have actually used it or have already walked the path I am about the commence. I figure it'll save me at least one expensive mistake if I ask first. Thanks in advance
  8. The colour under the cowl and just outside the undercarriage bay is interesting. Dirt/dust? I can see how the undercarriage would kick up dust/dirt/mud in that location but the patch under the cowling seems to have a fairly sharp demarcation on the panel line. Could it be dust sticking to waste oil from the engine?
  9. Is that aircraft silhouette on the far right (aft-most one) a Me-262 or is just worn paint making it look different to the others?
  10. Hello Pete, this thing is amazing- would you per chance be able to share the dimensions of the rivets you got done as a custom? Or would it be easier to get in contact with Archer and see if they can print it up again? I have an MH-60 in the stash, and while I am certainly not as capable as you are I can't see how in good conscience I can not have a crack at the rivets.....
