James Rademaker got a reaction from DugyB in USAF F-47 THUNDERBOLT VIETNAM
Terrific job on this build. I’m really looking forward to the completed Jug. I really like the way you changed the cockpit interior color from interior green (WWII) to USAF grey. Nice touch.

James Rademaker got a reaction from LSP_K2 in Bf109 G14 and K4 main differences
A few differences I can think of off the top. One was the extra main undercarriage gear door. Another is the G-10 could have the smaller tires and the K4 had the larger tires and the larger wheel bulges on the wings. Lastly the instrument panel and the starboard cockpit panel are different from the G6 and G10 cockpits. I’m sure that the 109 experts will add much more detail than I provided.

James Rademaker got a reaction from Vitor Costa in Trumpeter's BF-109, your opinions please?
I recently built the Trumpy 109G-10. Parts are well engineered and crisp. I liked the kit from the cockpit firewall aft. From the firewall forward to me there is way too much that can go wrong. The propellor shaft is in the engine which is connected to the machine guns. When I test fitted the fuselage and the propeller spinner is was about 2mm down and to the right. I had to remove the propeller shaft and use brass rod re drilled into the engine. Then it fit correctly. This could be due to my skills or the fidgety parts. I’m a big believer in the Hasegawa 109’s . I never display an engine so Hasegawa fits me perfectly.

I made a few of the Hasegawa P-47’s. The engine work was always the last assembly I did, procrastination at its best.

James Rademaker got a reaction from Out2gtcha in When to Panel Line
Guys,
I have been using Tamiya black panel line to highlight my builds. My question to you all is when? Do you finish painting the subject , gloss, panel line, re-gloss and THEN apply the decals or do you gloss, apply the decals and then panel line. I’m thinking that the panel line could creep under some decals and ruin or lift them.
Thanks,
Jim

If you really don’t want or like the kits you are thinking of trashing , why not give them away to a local hobby store so someone may have a chance to complete them. Or try selling them in our traders board for spare parts?

James Rademaker got a reaction from Rampenfest in Tamiya Spray Paints (Aviation Series)
George,
I am an avid modeler who does not own an airbrush. I have been using the Tamiya spray AS and TS paints for about five years. Recently, I’ve been building WWII German 1/32 BF and FW fighters. I highly recommend the Tamiya paints. The coverage is good and they dry very fast. I wish they had some of the late WWII colors used on BF109K and FW190 D-9’s.
