Spaceship!!! - but not what you expect
James Rademaker replied to The Madhatter's topic in Non-LSP Works
Wry well done. When I saw the first photo I thought it looked like a bedazzled airbrush. . Jim -
Now, that’s a model I would buy in injected molded plastic. It would be a great addition to the 1/32 community. Jim

It looks like a FW to me, too curved? it’s a model, not rocket science. Let’s try to enjoy the hobby of making and painting models. Just my small opinion, Jim

This model looks very nice. I will follow with interest, especially your cockpit build. Nice job on the engine. Jim

There is a guy who sells on eBay who did some resin conversions for the REVELL P51 B. He has a complete kit and other parts. Lastly, one of our LSP supporters Aeorcraft Models makes a clear resin windscreen and canopy conversions for the REVELL kit. Try doing a search on eBay for 1/32 P-51 and I’m sure it will be listed . Good luck, Jim

BF109G-10 Landing Gear
James Rademaker replied to James Rademaker's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
What does IIRC stand for? Thanks, Jim -
Gentleman, I have a couple of questions regarding the colors of the G-10 landing gear. First, if painting the lower wings natural metal, are the main gear legs and gear doors also NM or RLM 02? Lastly, I’ve seen G-10’s with the landing gear painted red. Is that SOP or just for certain production lines? Thanks, Jim

Derek, very interesting subject for the Mustang. I have used the Tamiya cockpit sprue 3-4 times to “upgrade” the Hasegawa Mustang. It fit’s pretty well, not too much surgery. You do have to cut off the Hasegawa instrument panel dashboard so the Hasegawa one fits. I’m looking forward to seeing more updates on this build. Jim

Absolutely incredible! But I’m sure it’s way outside my pay grade.. Jim

Thanks, I’m a 1/32 guy. Jim

What scales are the BF109’s? Getting rid of them? Jim

I see the model. Using Chrome. Jim

Excellent built, congratulations. The attention to detail is very impressive. Just a note, in your introduction you stated the mission was in the year 1957. I’m assuming that is a typo. To my knowledge the USAF was not flying missions in the 1950’s. Again outstanding build!

Really impressive “Butcher Bird”. Jim

I agree with the Hasegawa kit. Just was able to get one on eBay for only $42.00. It’s my next build. It seems to me that this kits is the only accurate F-4. Can’t wait to start it. Jim

I also do not see any photos. Jim -
Thanks Jay, I’ll us that technique on my current 109. Jim

Well done Jay, nice paint job! I really like the scalloping on the forward wing edge. Did you use a mask or freehand? Jim

A little hot water and then on a flat surface to even out the plastic and then back into cold water to keep its new shape. Jim -
Excellent work thus far. I’m looking forward to seeing the project as it progresses. Jim

Model shop in New York?
James Rademaker replied to antonlemmy@yahoo.com's topic in General Discussion
I live in the Westchester County area of NY. Most of the local hobby stores are long gone. The ones that are still open do not stock “static models”. They stay open selling RC cars and airplanes. I’ve gotten used to getting models from the internet hobby sites like Scale Hobbist in MA. Good selection and reasonable prices. Let me know if you find one, since we are not to far away from each other. Jim
