  1. I am working 2 projects. A US Blue and Yellow aircraft from the 30s/early 40s, and a Philippine based P-40 from the Bataan campaign. I need the federal standard colors for the following: Dark Olive Drab No. 41 from bulletin No. 41, Spec 24114 Neutral Gray 43 from the same bulletin/spec. Light Blue No. 23 Yellow No. 4 ANA True Blue ANA Orange Yellow Thanks for any help or info in this effort. I happened to chose some of the hardest colors to match accurately. SWAT
  2. Hi folks! I am working a project with a blue fuselage and yellow wings like USAAC from the 30s or USAAF trainers from 39 to the early 40s. I need good Federal Standard matches for these colors. Right now all I have is FS 15193 for Light Blue No. 23 and FS 15102 for ANA True Blue. Are these the best gloss Federal Standard matches to these historical colors? I see 15102 as quite a bit darker than I expected, and 15193 to be more gray and darker than I expected. I only have one shot at this and I want the most visually pleasing, but accurate representation of this period. My concern is that these federal standard colors listed above are still not 100% correct. I see many beautiful restorations of Steermans and such, but they are using a much prettier blue. Is this valid? If so, what Fed Standard are they using? Also, looking at some of the art from Dana Bell’s book on the subject, neither FS 15102 nor 15193 are close the right shade. Thanks for any help in this. If you like 1/1 models that fly, keep an eye out for this paint job where you least expect! SWAT
