That looks great. You convinced me to pick up a Hasegawa kit.
-
That looks like quite a project. It might be a bit much for me though.
-
We can only hope someone comes up with an updated kit. It's such an important plane and would be a popular kit if it's well done. Thanks for the comparison of the kits.
-
I'm not after any specific version of the aircraft, I just want a nice representative of the airplane. It seems like most of the kits have been around a while. I thought about the Airfix 1/24 but I really want to stick with 32nd scale. Thanks for any guidance.

Aviattic upgrade for the Roden 1/32 Sopwith 1 & 1/2 Strutter
AlbertD replied to Christian Smekens's topic in Vendors Board
I got my Strutter decal set today and they are absolutely amazing. The colors and linen effects look perfect to me. The set has some nice options and the masks for the interior look like they will be a huge help. I think this is the best set that Aviattic has produced to date. I'm looking forward to using them and will try to do a build log once I finish my CSM Nieuport XVII. -

Very nice. I think your weathering is just right. -
Great looking parts. I need to get caught up on your build. I've been away from the hobby for a while but am enjoying getting back to it and seeing what you guys have been up to.

Looks fantastic so far. I'm looking forward to following the rest of your build.

Nice work so far.

I went overboard on chipping. Can I fix it?
AlbertD replied to AlbertD's topic in Painting & Finishing
When I re-do it I'll try hairspray. -

That sounds like a good way to go. Aside from the chipping I'm pretty happy with the model. -
That has to be one of the best build I have seen. Absolutely amazing.

That's a great photo. I have not seen it before in my research. It definitely has some wear to it, -

Here are a couple of pictures. Now that I look at it after all these months it may not be too bad. -
This is absolutely amazing. John Glenn was my hero growing up and I have always loved the early space program. Your build is fantastic and a real inspiration. May I copy your photos for my onw references? I really want to build one of these.

I have my Tamiya Birdcage Corsair gathering dust on the shelf. I used chipping fluid but it's way overdone and I don't like the way it looks. I did a layer of aluminum and chipping fluid then a layer of zinc chromate primer with chipping fluid then color coat. I was thinking of just doing a bit of light sanding and re-paint the areas. Is this my best approach?

Bring it on. I can't wait to have one on my bench. Maybe CSM will fill some of the hole that WnW left in the hobby. They are producing some great kits.

Your on the downhill slide now Anthony. Those little details sure do make the project. -
You sure do some nice work John. It looks fantastic and your build log was great. I'll refer to it when I do mine.

She's looking sooooo good. Coming back after a few months and seeing your build just seems right. -
Hey guys, I'm close to getting this one going again. I posted in the lounge about my long absence from the forum and modeling in general. On this thread I'll just say my wife and I had a life changing event. Things are getting more stable now and we are settling into our new normal. I'll be posting some build updates in the near future. I see some great builds going on and I'm looking forward to getting to know the new members and get reacquainted with my old friends. Al

Very nice. I have not tried a Roden kit yet but this inspires me to go for it.
