Nice progress on your Spit! That Airscale set makes a difference and your Milliput seat cushion looks the business
Thinning the armour plate is a good idea, I'll have to do the same on mine.

Definitely some silver options like the F-104 or F-100, and all of the WW2 fighter options.
Am sure there are many other options out there.
Quite a bag of options.
Another option, RAF 25 Sq ....... Tornado F.3 would require some doing (conversion), but the Revell Hawk T2 comes with RAF Valley 25 Sq markings and ResKet have some optional add-ons available.

I ordered a B & N as soon as I saw they were available.
I opted for the non-decal versions of each.

I am still creeping along on this build .....not much bench time over the last 2 weeks.
I used Tamiya Buff for a base ......no particular reason why.

The wheels of progress have been turning slowly this past week.
We had our 9 year old granddaughter with us all week as school was out so bench time has been a little scarce.
Working the cockpit ...... a lot of parts now primed with color and some detail painting coming up.
Just a few pics where I am at.....

Thank You Jeremy !!! I'm starting to get some of the cockpit under paint and so far, things look good.
Thinning the armor plate certainly makes a difference once in place.
Thanks for the kind words on my efforts on the cushion ...... I have not mastered working with Milliput ......I think it looks OK so far.

not much bench time this week ..... we have my 9 year old granddaughter here during her school Christmas break.
decided to try and add the leather seat back cushion from Milliput. I think it will look good under paint plus the HGW belts hanging down over the cushion.
I also sanded the armor plate for behind the seat to a thinner profile.
-
I have to say I really like the bigger scale !!!
The seat is just pushed into place for the pictures.
I also have the HGW seatbelts which I have never used before (learning curve)

I am in with a 1/24th Airfix Spitfire Mk.IXc
I am using the Xtradecal X24004 which depicts MJ586 'LO.D' from 602 Sqn, based at B.11, Longues, France in July 1944.
For extra bits:
Airscale Cockpit Set
Eduard Cockpit Detail Set (select pieces)
Eduard Flap Set (not sure I'll be using this yet)
Xtradecal for the markings
1ManArmy Stencils
Montex Masks (I want to try painting the roundels)
Barracuda 5 Spoke Wheels
Barracuda Control Stick
Will post a few pics.

Looking at an Airfix 1/24 Spitfire ...... I found new(ish)? Xtradecals markings for a Spit based in France post-D-Day. Probably not getting started until post-Xmas.

Thanks Juggernaut ! Using your logic of.... I want a Dambuster....it's on sale, and best price seen (for sure on that), I ordered one myself.
Now hopefully I can build it within the next 5 years !!!!
Hopefully I can slide it by the wife... that's gonna be tricky as I have a 1/16 M10 Achilles and a 1/16 Korean Sherman coming from Andy's HHQ this week as well !!!!!

It's an MHU-83 bomb loader ......... they were not as fun to drive as an MJ-1 ...... slow ......we used them for pre-loaded munitions ..... a BRU-3/A loaded with a slant-4 configuration or with 6 weapons on it. I remember loading pre-loads of MK-82, Mk-82 Snakeyes, Mk-82AIR, Mk.20 or CBU-58s ..... Lakenheath & Upper Heyford .....F-111s
and we did call them J-4s back in the 80's
