  1. Fantastic. Wish I had seen the trick with the guns before mine was buttoned up. Next time for sure. James
  2. Thats the scheme I want to do next. Some inspiration to do it now. Well done. James
  3. Thanks guys. Thanks for the ref pics. I have some of those and some are new to me. I tried matching the paints, but that grey looks much darker. Maybe because it is the British paint and not an American replacement colour? Anyways started the weathering and made the antenna. More to do. James
  4. Really really like it. Nice work. James
  5. What a beauty. I have to get myself one of these I think. James
  6. Thanks for the compliments guys. I appreciate it. I've thoroughly enjoyed this build. James
  7. Yes it is and as soon as I saw the correction set I ordered it. Thats why it moved to the top of the stash. Cant wait James
  8. Thanks guys. This is a dream kit. As I am getting closer though I have started research on the next one, a Ju 87B2. I'm really excited that I am doing so much much modeling. James
  9. Well its done now. I have never had any luck repainting nor stripping a kit so I have decided to forge on. All decals on. Tomorrow a gloss coat and then the weathering. For better or worse I like it. The pictures make it look worse than what you actually see. Oh and the tires are just white glued on while I wait for my resin ones to come. Comments and or critiques welcome. James
  10. David, I hear you. It doesnt seem to be what I was going for or imagining. I was trying for a worn look as all the pictures I mcan find seem to be rushed looking. I'm just not sure if I should forge ahead and it will look better after a gloss coat, decals and then weathering or if this is just not a good base to start that process. Will have to think a bit more on this. Appreciate the critique as it will help. JAmes
  11. Initial paint is done. I tried to make it rough as all the pics I have found the OD looks very uneven and rough. Might have to go over this again. Not sure if it will look better after I gloss coat and weather. Tomorrow is another day anyways. Comments and critiques welcome. James
  12. Ordered mine as soon as I saw it. Looking forward to this. James
  13. Beauty. Really like that paint job and decal scheme. James
  14. Yup this is a great kit. Will watch with interest. James
  15. Got the masking on and the bottom coat painted. Maybe tomorrow I can get the top grey coat on. James
  16. Thats super impressive. Very well done. James
  17. Only had a little time yesterday. Landing gear are on and what gems they are. Just amazing how well this goes together. I didnt do so well on the wings, but it will look okay, not great, but okay. The little doors that open during wing fold are a pain to install, but very very cool. Some bits and bobs to finish, some masking to do and painting will commence. Very excited about this. James
  18. Thanks everyone. Harv, this is one of the nicest if not the nicest kits I have put together. Fit and engineering are incredable. It just needs attention to the instructions and decisions made early on. You wouldnt regret it. James
  19. Okay I have buffed it out all I can and hope after some paint no one will know about the flap. Getting closer to the paint stage btw. Maybe be able to do it this weekend I hope. Bottom pic you can just make out the damage. Left inboard as you look at it. James
  20. Well disaster has struck. Not paying attention to what I am doing and I made the inner left flaps using the up position. It would not fit well at all so I looked again and puzzled it out. I managed to get the flaps apart, but they look crappy. Am putting a request in to Tamiya and hope I can get new ones reasonably inexpensively. I guess I can do the right inner flaps, landing gear, and the vertical stab while I wait. Very disappointed with myself. I can only reiterate what has been mentioned a number of times, read the instructions and high-lite the ones that pertain to your build. Hopefully get back on track soon. James
  21. I use Vallejo Dark Rubber and Vallejo Light Rubber. For tires using Tamiya I made a mix using German Dark Grey and added some Flat Black to it. I use Nato Black for other things like engines etc. James
  22. I have the RB belts and unfortunately a piece went flying, then I used the leather belt pad on the PE ones. I'll use these for something at some point. James
  23. Thanks. Thoroughly enjoying this build. Warning, read the instructions well and make decisions early, then go through and mark the pertinent instructions. I almost goofed a couple of times. So here it is with wings just sitting in place. The wing to fuse did not join as well as I though it should. I must have something misaligned. But it looks okay now. James
