  1. Very cool. I'll have to look for those decals. Kotare is coming out with a Spit Vb later this year so I'll wait until then as converting stuff doesnt seem to be working well for me lately. James
  2. I printed the six gun nose for my HK A-26 and it looked like it will fit okay. Hopefully its okay to show link to where I posted this. Further down the page are some 500 and 1000 pound bombs for my A-26 and B-25 load outs. https://modelersalliance.org/threads/new-for-dec-23-part-two.157088/#post-389016 James Knaus
  3. I cant see the images, but do you have files for sale? James
  4. Fantastic. I just got the rest of the Airscale parts and I'm only waiting on my Norden bomb sight now. Following your build with interest. I was wondering if I should put the cushion on the floor and from your lead I think I should now. Realiy enjoying watching this. James
  5. This looks like a very cool subject. I cant wait to see more. James
  6. There is also REMJ https://www.remj.co.uk/3d-blocks I have also found people on Facebook who I have been able to buy files from and Patreon is also a good source of files. James

I look forward to any information thqat comes of this thread. I started resin 3D printing a couple of years ago but I am thoroughly enjoying it. I started with a Mars 2Pro and then got a Saturn and now have a Saturn 2 which is amazing. I use Siraya Tech Fast ABS-Like 3D Printer Resin Navy Grey. It is made for 8K machines and is amazing. Much better than some of the other versions I have used. There are a few companies like AnyZ that sell files of their products and they are fantastic. Also Cults3D is a very good place to find files, free and for sale. Currently I am saving for the new Elegoo Saturn 3 which is a 12K machine. One problem with 3D printing is it is addictive. If you are wondering about a FDM machine I suggest the Neptune 3Pro. It isnt very good for detail work, but it is great for making bases and tools and stuff around the house. James
  8. I saw a build on Facebook and the author had nothing good to say about the decals. I couldn't really see the issue, but it sounds like they do not apply very well. A few people also commented on the decals and overall I got the feeling they were not very good. I will try them anyway, but as I mentioned if they are not very good I can still try and use them to make stencils. I'm getting closer to where I can start the kit but I doubt I will get to the decals before you do as I am very very slow now adays. As for the Airscale stuff it looks fantastic. I missed the prop and the telescope the first time I ordered but i have fixed that. I am looking forward to using them and so am happy to see how you use the PE. Hopefully I am wrong about the decals, but there were more than a couple of people complaining about it. Of course maybe they have been improved. Only time will tell. James
  9. Watching with interest. I have the PE and decals also although from all I have heard the decals suck and the kit decals are better. I figure I will just make stencils. Where is the Telescopic sight and Propeller from? I would like to get those also. Hoping to start my kit after I finish my PT-17. James Oops, answered my own question and have them ordered.
  10. Looking very interesting still. You might already know, but if you dip the part in hot water (not boiling) before removing the supports they come off very easily and barely leave a mark. This is before curing of course. As some parts are hard to position when curing I have been using some pyrex beakers to hold the part with great success. Looking forward to more. James
  11. Very nice. I'm just gathering refs and hope to start this as soon as I clear the bench. Getting some ideas from looking at your build James
  12. Very cool project. I'd love to get one of these. Although I never worked on it I have a couple of friends who did and there is one down in Edmonton AB at the museum. Do you think you might sell stl files by any chance? James
  13. My finger stutters every now and again lol. Its bad enough i have 4 of them. James

    CH-147F

I found out a bit more, nose as mentioned, front landing gear moved forward, although they can use regular tanks the fat tanks are more often installed. Still trying to find more. Unfortunately this is going to be more than I expected. James.
  15. Watching this with extreme interest. Are the 3D printed parts kits or files? Are they for sale somewhere? I have 4 kits to do sometime soon and so am on the lookout for some of the missing parts to print if possible. James

    CH-147F

I'm not sure, still looking for info. I think ours have the rescue winch over the right side door and then a bunch of warts. I'm hoping that that is all. It has a new engine but I cant see if that makes for a different housing or not. Wikipedia only talks about the original Chinooks Canada had but not the ones we got in Afghanistan. So still searching for info. James

    CH-147F

Thanks Thierry. I'm really surprised at how little there is out there. I checked Werners Wings and all of the Chinook stuff is out of production. So far the only thing I have found is an instrument panel. I guess I'm going to have to do things the hard way, or at least for me. James

    CH-147F

Does anyone know of upgrades or conversions to change a Trumpeter 1/35 CH-47D to a CH-147F? From what little I know so far the F is a D with a glass cockpit and some other upgrades. I found an IP for the F but I am wondering if there is anything else I should look for? Thanks for any help. James
  19. Very very cool. Where can one get this kit or is it files we need to print? Thanks. Watching with interest. James
  20. Hi again everyone. I have some good pics and info for the cockpit and landing gear. I am not able to find colour info for the ammo bay behind the seat. I think for the 2 pictures I found that it is black like the cockpit. I saw one build though where it was an interior green. Does anyone know for sure? Also would the ammo cans be black or aluminum or maybe OD? Second question is about weapons. I was going to do a Syrian bird but my wife has seen the markings that come with the conversion and she likes the zig zags of 615 Sqn RAF. Would it be reasonable to equip it with rockets? Thanks in advance for any help. James

    Meteor F.8

Thank you. I will certainly do that. I cut out all the major pieces and the fit is pretty good, so I am pleased. Research though is a bit problematic. Thanks again for the suggestions. James

    Meteor F.8

Excellent thank you. I have made the first cuts and have the nose and tail taped in place. Tail didn't come out quite as I expected but its okay. I dont suppose you were selling tail pipes and turbines were you? James

    Meteor F.8

Thank you. I kept digging and read a thread that shows I have very little to worry about exept my own skills. Starting soon. James
  24. Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has built the HK Meteor with Fischers F.8 conversion? I did a search here and could not find anything and a search of the web has even less. I'm just curious about how others might have built it and any gotchas I should watch for. I am gathering all my refs and hope to start soon. I have Zotz decals coming and am looking at doing the Syrian bird. Thanks in advance for any help. James
