I have just looked at the photos 3 times, the perfect phantom. I'm suprised no one has mentioned the perfect decals, so well blended they look sprayed on
thanks for posting

CZPetrP reacted to Dukie99 in P-38G Lightning: Operation Vengeance - FINISHED
I call this one done. It is by no means perfect and it is more an approximation of a P-38G than an exact replica but I think it looks the part and given that GMF conversion is no walk in the parc, I am really happy with the end result. I hope you enjoy. This is a beautiful airframe and if Tamiya had the good idea of doing a P-38 in 1/32 scale, I would certainly buy one or two copy.
Cheers,
David

CZPetrP reacted to Jan_G in Special Hobby Westland Whirlwind Mk I, P7117/HE-E
I was really happy that SH announced Whirlwind few years ago
I'm not an expert into this cool looking plane and my main reference for the build is the Valiant's Airframe Album.
I plan to build it OOB with almost no AM and with all the shortcuts which will help to speed up the build.
With total lack of time for modelling in past year, I'm happy that I can gather at least some decent time these days and proceed with this build.
everything painted with MRP paints, weathered with MIG Neutral and Dark wash
So far the fit of main parts is quite good (taking into account that it's short run), however it's hard to place several internal parts and is more about guessing. And about dry fitting
so far I was able to gather only some AM, but I can imagine that in upcoming months we will see more aditional sets.
thanks for looking

CZPetrP reacted to Greif8 in WNW Sopwith Pup
I finished a month long project that consisted of WNW's Sopwith Pup, a figure and a base today. The Pup is pretty much straight oob, I only added spark plug wires, controls lines in the cockpit and cockpit bracing wire - and an HGW seatbelt. I decided to build a replica of a Pup that had been sent to Training Command as I thought the black and white striped finish looked pretty nice. I weathered this build fairly heavily as I wanted to show a well used aircraft that was worn without being worn out. So there is a fair amount of castor oil and dirt staining as well as some faded and chipped paintwork. I opted to show the prop in a "like new" condition as I tried my hand at replicating a wooden prop and thought it looked better in "new" condition. I imagine that training units went through a fair amount of props and the clean look provides a nice contrast to the rest on the build, IMHO at least. I used the same technique to simulate wood on the rest of the natural wood surfaces. First up are s few "in progress" shot of the cockpit and engine as you can't really see much in the photos of the completed build.
A few overall shots.
I few mid-distance and close up photos.
The pilot looks quite pleased with himself; perhaps he just soloed on this aircraft!
