That is truly sad news, a great selection of items and high quality service is what I will remember. Mr. Coufal will be missed and my deepest heartfelt condolences to the family. Let's hope that someone can step up and keep the legacy of Profimodeller alive.

This is the second part of a commission build. Two years ago I finished an Avro Lancaster 35th Squadron for a museum display regarding fellow Norwegian Johan Koren Christie: https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/topic/90915-hk-models-avro-lancaster-raf-35th-squadron/#comment-1305054 This time it's Johan's brother Werner Christie that is the subject of my model. Werner together with his brother fled occupied Norway, attended Pilot training at Little Norway Toronto. Returned to Europe and UK after finished flight school. Served first in 331 Sq. and later in 332 as Squadron chief. Transferred to the British 234th Squadron, later Wing Commander of the 150 Wing. and spent the last weeks of WW2 as a POW after a bail out over Northern Germany. This model will go into the same exhibition as his brothers Avro Lancaster and some personal items including his medals on loan from the family. The model is supposed to represent Werner's D-Day ride. The 18" invasion stripes were painted on in a very crude manner on the 5th of June.... 332 Operated from Bognor Regis in the summer of 44. Bognor was wire mesh covered: I have tried to replicate that for the base. All in all not a perfect result, but at least a very interesting and historical subject. I really do enjoy when history and modelling come together! Tamiya Spit, Resin from Barracuda, figure Ultra Cast with a hornet head, HGW seat harness and decals from fellow Norwegian Vingtor Decals. Figure painted by my good friend Cato N!

Thank you guys for the warm welcome, highly apricated Tom, haven't been particularly good at documenting, but here are a few snap shots from the nearly two years build process... Crew and cockpit (Figures modified and painted by Cato): In the end, sadly little to be seen: -

After lurking around for years going completely under the radar , getting tons of tips and inspiration, it's finally time to post something This build was a joint effort with my good friend Cato. We made this model for a local regimental museum that has built up a theme around some artifacts that belonged to fellow Norwegian Johan Koren Christie. Johan trained as a pilot in the Norwegian Army Flying Corps in the late twenties. He fled Norway, after the capitulation in 1940 and volunteered for the RAF in 1942. After almost being kicked out from basic training, that he still managed to pass because Bomber Command was suffering so heavy casualties and desperately needed replacements. He was then being transferred to 35th Pathfinder Squadron as a pilot he flew 46 operational sorties most of, in a Halifax, but also a few in a Avro Lancaster. Our model is supposed to illustrate one of the latter sorties. The HK model goes well together without too much trouble, but the size makes it more demanding than the normal, simply because you must basically have the model stationary and move around it, and not just keep it in your hand. Anyway an enjoyable build, the next one will be a single engine, single seater, just for the pure therapy , The museum staff working on the shadow box. Wood frame and photoshopped aerial reconnaissance photograph printed on an aluminium plate.
