  1. Loved flying the 172, easy to fly.
  2. This is a work of art, I love the details.
  3. I remember this aircraft as a war trophy at the national aviation museum in Ottawa, Canada back in the late 1970's. And when wingnuts wings released it I built the kit. I loved it, the kit went together so well.
  4. Very nice, I am well on my way with my build but do not know how to post photos?
  5. No those were not a post war mod, they became standard for mustangs in 1944. They were for use on mustangs in the tropical enviroment but were seen all over the world.
  6. Where did they strap the husky dogs. I got a ride in one of these at rivers back in 1971. Fun ride.
  7. All most all r.c.a.f. mustang had Matt black cockpit areas even around the cockpit fuel tank area, as these where overhauled before being sent to squadron use.
  8. I had a hard time reminding to myself that this was a model not the real thing. Wow what detail.
  9. I have seen a few drawings of the navigators seat and the upper armour plate is not there, there is a small padded frame for the navigators head instead.
  10. I built the hk.models b17 g as a Kenting air services plane 1960's area. A lot of mods but it was fun as I had the proper information for it. Taking off the nose chin gun was easy but getting sheet plastic to conform to the nose was a hassle. I entered in a model contest here in Edmonton one year and it was stolen later so somebody took notice. I will never build another but I might buy the b17f.
  11. I noticed that the hkmodels Lancaster has two dinghy hatches in the upper wing ? Was one dinghy for the officer class and the other for non com's.?. It also has no clear plastic under wing landing lights. How weird. I am still enjoying building the kit.
  12. Oooh, I have got to watch this space.
