Here I am showing my Williams Bros Gee Bee R-1 which I have just finished after several years on the shelf of delay.  It depicts the 1932 Thompson Trophy winner and was flown by Jimmy Doolittle.
It's made OOB except for the propeller hub, which I remade from aluminum.

I did not include the thin black pinstripes separating the red and white colors as I could not think of a way to produce them in scale.
The pilot figure is from Immense Miniatures.

I have finished this Williams Bros 1/32 Caudron C.460 racer that won the 1936 Thompson Trophy and the Greve Trophy race.  Flown by Michel Detroyat.
The build was a simple one with few parts.  The aged decals did present a challenge, but I managed to save them with Microscale Liquid Decal Film.  I added some internal structure visible in the wheel wells and cockpit.  The pilot figure is from Immense Miniatures.  I replaced the kit landing gear with wheels from the parts box and scratched the struts.  The plate oil coolers are bare metal foil, and are not drilled out, as so many modelers mistakenly do.  The oil cooler plates have dimples in them, not holes.  The dimples create a turbulent boundary layer in the air that flows over them, facilitating heat transfer.
This is the second in my collection of Williams Bros kits.

I've been somewhat negligent at posting updates, but there is not much to this model.  I have found some more interesting wheels in the parts box and the decals were a nightmare - they wouldn't release from the backing paper and had to be peeled off at the very high risk of being torn.  I used some decal saver liquid to help in this regard.
After a clear coat to seal the decals I should be finishing this soon.

Started this recently - a Williams Bros 1/32 Caudron C.460.  I will model the 1936 Thompson Trophy winner as pictured on the box art.

I am adding some detail in the cockpit and wheel wells.

Engine plug with pushrod detail in brass.

I am adding a pilot figure.   This is a figure from Immense Miniatures that has been re-posed to a large extent.

Also rebuilding the landing gear for sharper detail.

This brings me up to date.
Comments welcome and thanks for looking in.
