    WE have a charity event every year in the UK called 'Red Nose Day'... One squadron in Germany, one year, painted 5 FGR2's noses red unknowing of the co..and then taxied past a briefing he was doing..apparently

    Try some Bilt Hamber etchweld primer....

    How about plumbers PTFE tape for the joints? ( if its too thick out of the roll you can stretch it to make it as thin as you want)

    When you are etch priming you only need the thinnest of coats, almost a mist coat then leave for 24 hours or so. would it be worth asking someone like Pheonix whether they would mix some ZCP coloured etch primer?

    If you are actually using Stainless sheet, it may be that it is Austinitic ( non magnetic)...that could be part of the issue 304 and 316 are two.

    Annealing is when you heat the metal (aluminium) and it 'softens it to make it more malleable' You can use a hand torch. A tip would be to rub some domestic soap on the surface of the piece and when it turns black its done...

    if you find you need to glue the transparency, try Mig ultra glue
