  1. You got a beauty there! Excellent photography as well. Makes me glad I got one of those Dragon kits! The clarity of your canopy is striking!
  2. Are you thinking about the American produced and piloted "Liberty Planes"?: https://www.nps.gov/articles/libertyplane.htm
  3. I agree from that standpoint, and to have to do that degree of scratch-building with resin especially would be a deal-breaker. In my case, with a subject that large, I actually would be satisfied with the old Monogram 1/72 scale kit with its' 3'-3" wingspan as I am with my Trumpeter Tu-95 Bear bomber's 2'-3" wingspan. One thing that also kind of "wimp's out" my interest is that it essentially was a stop-gap measure until the B-52 came along.
  4. No problem. In your case, I suggest that you talk to their technical dept. and see if ordering a finer needle and nozzle tip is an option for your model.
  5. If you are going to apply a new decal to the same spot, I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise, you might have to strip the coating stuff off completely.
  6. Once again, depending on where you live, our Hobby Lobby stores have Iwata's, Paasche's and Badgers, all in various single/double open/enclosed action types. And of course for the finer lines you seek the smaller needle size, but those also can be got as AM items from the major manufacturers.
  7. And to further add to your interest, here is the decal website dedicated to the "Yellow Wings" era planes in 1/32 scale: http://yellow-wingsdecals.com/decals/index.php/1-32-decals.html Notice, you could build a Kitty Hawk Kingfisher dressed out as one as well.
  8. Hobby Lobby is an excellent source of Iwata's stuff. I got their nice trigger model with a 40% off coupon as well.
  9. To answer: NEVER! You gotta remember the builder/collector's motto: "Models are like Jello-there is always room for one more"
  10. You hit the nail on the head Dean! That is exactly what we are looking at right now. But, somehow we are not supposed to worry, as we in the U.S. are also being promised some sort of magically produced "higher paying jobs" by the same source that is demanding the tariffs that will effectively increase our cost of living. As you know higher priced goods+higher wages=inflation. Essentially the working poor hope the wages keep up with the price increases. Our Federal Reserve bank has already increased interest rates. I have a fellow retiree friend that is freaking out over the present Wall Street dump after glowering when it hit record highs not that long ago.
  11. Yes, just like in the '70's. Settled down to the new higher price. At this time I have bought up a good stash of Chinese made kits, and bought a new 17" HP laptop Office Depot had on special plus a nice Epsom printer at bargain prices that will go away when the tariffs hit starting in July. I openly suggest anyone of us in the U.S. wanting something made overseas, especially China, do so now. As an example, all Office Depot has to do to effectively raise their price without alarming you is simply take-away the $60.00 discount I got today on the printer, as well as the $200.00 discount I got on the HP.
  12. OK, go to the news and look at Harley Davidson, and their move to Europe in order to stay competitive because of threated tariffs/ trade wars. Why should a major model kit manufacturer that has a European alternative base be any different? Both Revell/Monogram and Harley have these things in common: Started out in the U.S. In order to stay in business, they need to make money. In order to make money, they need to sell the things they manufacture at a profit. Because of the tariff/trade war looming, now they are obliged to fully relocate to Europe. Because tariffs add to the cost of the items being exported, you get to pay more for them.
  13. Nice NMF shade-contrasting!
  14. Looks like it just came from the factory!
  15. Thank you for sharing your usual excellent Yellow-Wings production. Also, thanks for the rigging instructions.
  16. Excellent camo scheme and the highlighting of the unusual wheel-well placement is an "eye-popper".
  17. I just got through talking to Sprue Brothers and the owner feels that his is a very fair price and is happy to wait for the right buyer.
  18. As a build, I would think an item like this would be a project for some sort of museum somewhere, with the budget being approved by the trustees, owner, etc., otherwise simply for a collector/investor with money and storage space. In either case the owner of Sprue Brothers who buys their things like this must have gotten it for a "steal".
  19. Well, even down here where we have the WWII D-Day Museum, instead of taking up floor space (in your case shelf space) their restored full-size C-47 and B-17's are displayed by hanging them from the ceiling. So why don't you just do the same?
  20. Awesome, Brian... Thank you very much-after being "house-bound" for medical reasons, this was "just what the Doctor ordered" for me.
